Had to vote for BA there was some what of a sense of optimism with him that was lacking with Vinny. Hope to give BA another opportunity to "win off the field" here.

Neither one, they both sucked. I didn’t want either one signed as I had seen what Cerrato did with the 49ers and Allen with the Raiders.

This might be the toughest poll to answer in a while. Also I think Bruce Allen is 0-2 for the playoffs, we went in 2012/2015. Don't sell the man short Matty.

Also let's put some faces to these names. Never forget:

Winning off the field....

It was tough to choose but I went with Vinny. How he handled the situation with Jim Zorn was completely disaster, which led Redskins to rock bottom. But then, it seems like Redskins have hit bottom few times in last several years...

I voted Allen, the RG3 / Cousins debacle happened on his watch. Far more damaging than Haynesworth.

I vote for Bruce. Vinny was an idiot, but he wasn’t sleazy. He also atleast had us as offseason champs.

I'd like to punch BA way more than I ever did Crazy Vinny. Bruce gets my vote. Weasily sum' bitch.

Allen at least is a competent executive and he brought some sanity back to the way we spend money.

Vinny did nothing right.

Both are plain horse shit. Allen still having a job is completely unacceptable. He has fucked the QB position up from day 1.

I voted Allen. That RG3 trade set us back multiple years, as did the Kirk deal. His deals have had longer lasting implications, setting us back more years.

Sean Taylor died on Vinny's watch.

Vinny declared war on the fans. Bruce never did that. So i voted for Vinny.

Re: Battle of the bad GM's

To answer the question seriously, I think Allen's method of team building is more likely to result in sustained contention. Vinny went out and whiffed on too many big money free agents and we traded away too many valuable draft picks. Some of that was on Joe Gibbs though if we're being completely honest, the same way the RGIII trade was on Shanahan (remember, they both had final say on roster moves and trades at that time).

But Allen has adopted McCloughan's approach to building through the draft and letting marginal free agents walk for overpriced contracts, turning them into compensatory selections.

That's the formula Bill Belichick uses, except he knows how to coach and how to pick players. Allen at least has the right formula, with none of the know-how. Vinny had nothing at all.
