Well im not sure if Devin felt secure after he played and lost to us in week one, but if he did his security may have been short lived:

Giants take kick-return duties away from Devin Thomas | ProFootballTalk

Also i wanted to ask this in the Fat Albert thread but it got closed; When a player is released and must clear waivers is he allowed speak to potential suiters during that time, or is that tampering of some sorts?
Tampering under the old rules. Think so under the new CBA rules as well

Funny, when I saw this thread get bumped, the first thing I thought when I clicked the link was, "did he get cut yet?" After looking at this post, I now think, "not yet, but it's just a matter of time."

What a bum!

Thanks, thats good to know. But..... if a player has a no-trade clause in his contract can teams still make claims, or when he gets released does he immediately become a FA?

Also one thing ive never understood is why the vast majority of “premium” (regular starters with multiyear deals) NFL players dont ask for no-trade clauses, since trades occur so much less than other sports. Why wouldn’t a player want control of his own destiny, the reduced contract cant be that much for premium players. Any insight on that?

Yeah, he hasnt had one catch this year, hes solely a specialist that had his job taken away from him....

Whats crazy to me is whenever he got on the feild he looked like he really loved playing the game. Evven when he was on kick off (and maybe punt coverage) here he seemed to really enjoy it. You would imagine that a guy with all the physical tools and what seems like a desire would at least pan out a little bit. Maybe he hates practice and only works on game days.

With that type of attitude it's easy to see why he is more mouth than dedication. Actions speak louder than words and he has spoken loud and clear. He is a bust.
