Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Can I get a job with Scouts Inc.? Please!

http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs07/insider/news/story?id=3177175

#4: Joe Gibbs is one of the best coaches of all time and will eventually be in the Hall of Fame, and this season he has done a great job of managing his team down the stretch in the wake of the Sean Taylor tragedy. However, his clock management has not been great and there are times when it appears the game has passed him by. Gibbs has two excellent sidekicks, though, in offensive coordinator Al Saunders and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Gibbs has never been great as a delegator, so it is important that he does not try to be too hands-on in the postseason and allows his coaches to do their jobs, and if he does that, the Redskins will be a dangerous team in the playoffs.

That's pretty bad. How could a professional sports writer not know Gibbs is in the HOF?! Don’t they have an editor that should have caught that? Disgraceful!:spank::httr:

My favorite "observation" is that Gibbs has never been a great delegator. Whether it was Pettibon, GW, Danny Smith, Pete Rodriguiez or Wayne Sevier, does Gibbs do any hands on coaching of Defense or Special Teams? All he does is delegate the coaching.

Are you kidding? Gibbs is NOT a Hall Of Famer? I thought Monk not getting in was bad but I figured with 3 Super Bowl wins with 3 different quarterbacks Gibbs was a lock.
In order to right this wrong, I am starting the Gibbs/Monk HOF campaign to get these two deserving gentlemen into Canton. EVENTUALLY it will happen.

Re: Scouts Inc. ranks the playoff coaches

Well I got them to fix it:

4. Washington Redskins: Joe Gibbs is one of the best coaches of all time, and this season he has done a great job of managing his team down the stretch in the wake of the Sean Taylor tragedy.

A little ticked that they don't even acknowledge that he's in the HOF. And the "never been great as a delegator" comment is so off base it's laughable. But I'll save those battles for another day.

Kudos for setting them straight. At least now they have their facts straight. The Gibbs being a bad delegator is way wrong, but it's an opinion, not a fact. You set them straight on the facts, but it's up to them to come up with valid opinions - and they failed.

Yes, he has done a wonderful job such as calling timeouts he doesn't have and costing his teams game. But he's in the Hall of Fame, its ok!
