Perfect is perfect, meaning you have to win every game. If they can do it, move over '72 Dolphins and make room at the top of the mountain. But, it's still a long way to Arizona. The Patriots have to remain focused like they have been if they want to go down in history as one of, if not, the best team ever. If they loss focus, someone like Jacksonville, Indy, or even the Skins will beat them.

they will always be remembered as the only team to go 16-0 in the regular season. but to be the greatest team ever they will have to go 19-0 and win the superbowl. it's going to be a challenge for them because sure most of the games that they've won have been in blowouts, but 2-3 of the games have come from lucky calls on their part which they probably wont get in the playoffs. so we'll see what happens.

You know what would really be weird? If we were known as the only team to have lost to both perfect season teams in the SB.

Of course I'd be completely happy we made it that far, but that would kinda suck.

Or be the only team 2 have beaten two undefeated teams 1942-43 Redskins with Slinging Sammy Baugh beat the perfect Bears to ruin their season and make history winning the championship.

If they lose, it will be remember as whatever the media thinks it will get the most attention.

Using this basic idea, if they lose to a well coached and executed game they will be an remembered as a team that finished the reg season undefeated, maybe a small blurb in history about they didnt go all the way. If they lose by being outplayed, over confident, or poor coaching, I think they will remembered as a undefeated team that was mared by cheating and possibly their own newspaper clippings.

Using recent memory as a basis, look what happened to Gibbs. He screwed up the double timeout to ice the kicker and many jumped on to fire him. No excuses were given even with ST still fresh in everyones mind.

Look at Gibbs now, he the savior for the Redskin organization. Even if he were to lose in the playoffs, he will be looked at a coach who still has it.
