Rabble rabble rabble!

Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Fire Shanahan.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Not surprised, but he did a good job for us.......
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Seeing they had the #10 jersey for RGIII, you knew that was coming...lol
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
RGIII is already costing us players!!! You just KNOW we only cut him because he wanted to keep #10 but that prima dona QB made the team cut him!!! Kirk Cousins wouldn't do that to a guy! :soapbox:
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Not sure why they even signed him in the first place.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Cue the questioning, uproar, random babble over a player who was here for less than a full calendar year.
Have we confirmed this news? Is it possible that Mike Shanahan's Twitter account was hacked? |

They didn't, they traded for him. BOOM! Accuracy check! See, his release is already causing rifts in Redskins nation. Damn you Jabar. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
What is the weather like in Dallas this time of year?
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I blame Shanny's racism for this move.

Well they didn't. They traded for him. They traded a guy who is out of the league now. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
waiting on a tweet from Stephen A.......

Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
First casualty of the RGIII era. Fear the #10.
Seriously, seems like they couldn't trade him for a pick, so they just released him. |

Well, the guy is still trying, but he's a longshot, signing a reserve/futures contract with the Broncos. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
On a serious note, this probably speaks to the teams confidence in Hankerson's rehab as well as Morgan's health.

lol. the good news is that prima dona QB not only can pass the ball but he can run with it too so atleast he can play two positions with only taking up one spot. lol. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
With Beck and Gaffney gone, they now save about $4 million
Gaffney's been told that they may be willing to bring him back later this summer but he wouldn't be competing for a starting spot and it would be for....wait for it....the vet min Naturally, he's not interested in any of that. Not now at least Also...how would you all feel about Jacoby Jones? |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I'm sorry to see Jabar Gaffney go. He's a real veteran and a true professional. I enjoyed watching his contributions on the field in a Redskins uniform last season. I hope he catches on with another team very soon.

Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I know we've hashed this out in other threads, but..
Garcon Morgan Hankerson Moss who else makes the squad now? |

Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I hope now we can afford to resign hightower.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I think he was driving a Bentley on his way out from Redskins Park.

Also...how would you all feel about Jacoby Jones?
Second time I've heard this. I hope third times a charm. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
I think Hightower will be competing for a roster spot if one of our rooks impress.
|
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
My only issue is that last year Gaffney was far and away our best receiver. Lack of speed didn't stop him.
On the other hand when you bring in two free agents and get a highly ranked prospect back from injury, somebody's gotta go and we have cap issues. Good luck wherever you go Jabar, you played well here. |

Garcon Morgan Hankerson Moss who else makes the squad now?
We still counting Paul as a WR or counting him as a TE? If he's at TE, then you've got to think it's between Armstrong and Robinson for the #5 position and between either a camp rookie, free agent acquisition and Banks for the 6th WR/PR/KR spot. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
Jacoby Jones would be a great pick up. If nothing else, he could really help our return game. And we will need good returns since we are doomed without the Beck to Gaffney combo.

I still didn't hear what kind of deal Fletcher got, then we picked up Goff. Most of that $4 million saved will be used up by the rookie pool, methinks. But there's still probably room to pick up Jacoby Jones if we wanted. He's not costly. |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
He did a nice job last year, but he's moving on to his 5th team for a reason. I wish him luck.

I'm counting Paul as TE. Speaking of: Davis, Cooley, Paulsen, and Paul at TE? |
Re: Jabar Gaffney Released
He was a solid player but clearly a stop-gap at best. Good luck to him.

Good luck wherever you go Jabar, you played well here.
That is like saying he was the tallest dwarf. The Skins passing attack in 2011 was miserable. A lot of that came from the QB competencies - - or lack thereof. A good enough part of that came from the fact that the Skins' WRs - - every last one of them - - was mediocre at the very best. If you want to anoint Gaffney as "the best of the mediocre lot", fine. But do not get carried away and think that he is a valuable property as an NFL WR. |
