Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
What rookie is going to "screw up" with his first contract knowing it'll kill any value for his next contract? The window of opportunity is so small in the NFL that nobody is going to screw up their first contract, only to turn around and get a bare minimum contract JUST so he can really play and get a better contract after a minimum...
.
Ummm, Fred Davis comes to mind. |

only RGIII would be the best on my mind .

Are you saying Fred Davis intentionally sabotaged his career with his first contract, so that he could prove himself again with his second contract, and then finally get that big money contract his third time around? Really? |

Josh LeRibeus and Robert Griffin III are the only draft picks who remain unsigned. |

Because you get what you pay for. These aren't even the right color and are probably made out of paper mache. ;) |
Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
That's bad. I'd rather have RG3's game worn jersey anyway.

Plus the people in China who made it are likely working under sweatshop conditions. |
Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
For those that are debating buying a $30-$40 knock off or the $100 replica jersey I will put it to you like this.
The quality of the material on the knock offs are just as good if not better than the replica. Nike makes all of their products in third world countries just like the bootleggers but unlike the bootleggers they have a high overhead to cover with licensing, advertising, and endorsement deals. Also, while you can tell a knock off from an authentic upon close inspection you can spot the "cheap" replica a mile away. Oh and don't forget to keep that replica out of the dryer. I learned that lesson the hard way quite a few times. |

Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
I heard earlier in the offseason that Griffin's contract will be similar to what Cam Newton got last year. Given what the Redskins gave up in order to draft Griffin, his deal could be better than Newton's.
|
Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
What the Skins gave up is irrelevant as far as the slot for his salary goes.

Thought others might like this link:
2012 NFL Draft Signings It has all the draft picks and their signing status. I think I posted a different article a while back that talked about the top of the third round having a sticking point in negotiations. This link seems to solidify that idea. Round 1 unsigned - 14 (8 of top 10) Round 2 unsigned - 3 Round 3 unsigned - 12 (also 8 of top 10) Round 4 unsigned - 2 (1 is dallas, and 1 is NO, who obviously has a lot of issues going on) |
Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
Given that rookies report on Monday and there is little to be gained from a holdout, one would think that Gryphon and Ribeye sign very soon.

Here's a recent photo of Robert Gryphon III:

Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
I came across a pretty good analysis of which of the 9 rookies will make the roster and what their roles will be, too: http://www.redskins101.com/2012/07/11/how-many-rookies-make-the-washington-redskins’-53-man-roster/
All 12 made it last year, but that's simply not going to be the case this season. |

Any word on when RGIII will sign? I know monday rookies report. i dont understand why he hasn't yet. Salary is pretty much set right? why would he wait for Luck to sign if that is the case?

Only in that language... shouldn't mean anything... you trade that for a guy and he's not a 4 year projected starter? You don't give that up for questions and Danny boy ain't cheap |
Re: Redskins rookie signing thread
griff should have them by the balls
RG3 does have leverage. His amount of dollar$ and cent$ should be equivalent to what Von Miller got for the Denver Broncos last year and what Ndamukong Suh got the year before that. |

I think Keenan Robinson is gonna get some playing time. I think Jordan Bernstine has good shot of making the squad because his physical skillset size/speed suggest that he could possible play 3 positions: SS/FS/CB. I think Compton and Gettis make the practice squad. |
