5 years later...
 

It's crazy to think its been 5 years since ST was taken away from us as fans and more importantly from his family as a son, father, and potential husband. I don't think we'll ever see a player with his combination of talents and his give everything possible on the field mentality. We will always wonder what could have been, but at least we were treated first hand to his talents for 3 & 1/2 years. We will always remember you Sean.

Also, just a quick note here. I know there are many of you who like to point out that he's already been dead five years, he didn't even play that long for us, can we just get over it and move on already, etc....just for today at least, keep those thoughts to yourself.

It doesn't seem that long. Hopefully his family has found some peace with the passage of time. When I attended games between 2004-2006, my end zone seats were the perfect vantage point to see Sean's reign over the middle of the field. Gregg Williams usually positioned him about 20 yards off the line of scrimmage, so when he flew up to apply a hit on a short pass or a run, #21 was something to behold. Watching games on TV didn't give viewers a perspective of how much ground he could cover. I'm glad to have seen it firsthand at the 9-10 games that I saw Sean play at FedEx.

I remember that day as if it was a few months ago..Felt like I had lost a relative. Still very sad. Hell of a player. We could use him right now. Love reading that his father is doing good and staying in touch with the redskins organization.

It sucks for fans because we missed out on seeing someone who was in line to change the game. He was that good. I don't know how the last five years would have played out but remember this...how we all feel watching RGIII play right now...that's what we felt when ST was out there ballin'. At least for me it is.

Still miss that guy, and this franchise really does too. Was such a presence on the field, and sucks to think what could have been. RIP 21.

Still remember when I got to meet Sean before the Bucs/Skins in 2005 (he was hurt) and we had sideline passes... my buddy had his rookie jersey on and he came up to us (I was afraid to go up to him) and just said "hey whats up, I'm Sean", talked to us for 2-3 minutes and just such an awesome experience and made the whole thing so much sadder.

Yeah, it's kind of hard to "just get over it", because Sean Taylor was THAT special of a player. I know he didn't play very long for the Redskins, but it didn't take THAT long to realize he would have been one of the greats of the game.

Me too, I remember going to sleep hopping he would be ok, not even play again, just to be ok, then waking up (on my birthday) to a note that my roomate slid under my door that said...

"We lost Taylor, he didn't make it."

It was a very sad birthday that year let me tell you.

I hat to do it to you Warpath.... but just think of all our secondary woes, and how they would be if he were still in the game, assuming we didn't trade him anywhere and he didn't leave as a FA. Oh well to the what if's, now we need to find a guy who's just half as good and we will be set.

I really think that Taylor would have been the next Ronnie Lott. It's stragne that he was so loved by so many yet never talked to the media. It's like he had this cult following. Anyhow he's missed, on and off the field. Such a shame his daughter will never get to know her father.

sad indeed, i remember after hearing what happened, thinking "i wonder if he'll ever play again? who cares, just survive."

my all time favorite sean taylor moment was when he sealed the deal in dallas on mnf. he popped that receiver so hard. man, he was absolutely awesome
