Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
One of our best players, guy shows up every time he's asked.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
One of the best 3rd down backs in the league
|
Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
I wont be mad if he gets the ball more coming out of the backfield this year

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Our secret weapon. The guy you call a play for when it's 21 all in the 4th quarter with 9 minutes to play. Wheel route. Play action pitch around end. Screen pass. Or play action to him as he picks up a key block on a blitz to give Cousins the time to throw downfield.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Very good move. Wouldn't mind seeing the team do this for some of our other important contributors.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Gotta love a guy like CT especially compared to what we've been hearing about Cravens. CT has overcome injuries and worked his tail off.

Yup. Well deserved for CT, he's an underrated weapon out of the backfield. |
Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
This will be huge for the Redskins this year. CT is one of my favorite players on the team.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
I have always felt that if he got enough touches, he could give us Devonta Freeman type production, I don't think he would run between the tackles the same way but I think he could give us 1500 yards from scrimmage easy and about 10-12 TDs.
One of my favorite players |

One of my favorite players[/quote] second this...I worry about the wear and tear but dang it...this year would be perfect to at least get more touches our of the backfield just to see how his body responds. |
Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Well deserved. Thompson should be on the field more.

I like his current status more. With his injury concerns it should be about maximizing his touches, not trying to make him the workhorse back. I think the current system works because teams forget about him through the game and it allows him to make clutch plays in the 4th. D.Jax and Garcon were great at taking the most coverage, now that they are gone if Pryor/Doctson don't step up we will see more coverage shifted to Crowder/Thompson. I'm not sold on Pryor or Doctson yet so I bet early on we will see Crowder/Thompson get the most coverage until Pryor/Doctson prove themselves. |
Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Keim brought it up today with doctson...might not start and Ryan grant could be the 3rd wr this weekend.

Re: Chris Thompson inks 2 year extension
Devonta Freeman is 209 pounds at 5'9". Thompson is 5'8" and 191. He would get injured very quickly if we tried to use him like Freeman. That statement shows an alarming lack of knowledge of NFL football and the rigors that accompany that kind of workload.
The appropriate comparison is Darren Sproles. |
