Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style
Bengals signed RG Alex Cappa, formerly of the Bucs, to a four-year, $40 million contract.
The signing won't be official until the official opening of free agency on March 16. Tom Brady will lose his standout starting right guard to Joe Burrow and the Bengals, who have plenty of cap space and are expected to make massive upgrades to their shoddy offensive line. Cincinnati's offensive line was graded by Pro Football Focus as the league's eighth worst pass blocking unit in 2021. Burrow was und near-constant duress, setting a record for most sacks taken in a season. Bengals go Cappa over Schreff…big L for Schreff |

Has the "official" tampering window opened already , I thought it wasn't for an hour or so, or is this unofficial tampering? |

Gonna be interesting to see the number. Per Keim podcast, the Trubisky camp was disappointed to hear the Commanders traded for Wentz
Trubisky to the Steelers
Okay .. Steelers are considered by most as a very stable highly productive front office and respected by most … they just signed trubisky and most Commanders fans thought he was horrible and wanted nothing to do with him .. it tells me several things .. The Steelers just like us realize there is NO instant starter in this years draft .. only project types . So I wonder if Steelers fans will hammer there team like we hammer our team ( I know there are a few of us that Are ok with the Wentz signing) .. does anyone out there think Trubisky will be better than Wentz .. I think Pittsburg would have taken Wentz if we had not ( the only negative I see with Wentz is his cost .. |
Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style
Trading down with the Steeler would be an excellent option. No way they can have a winning record with Haskins, Mitch, and a rookie in the AFC North. Especially if the Browns end up getting Watson.

Remember, the Steelers and Browns were in on the Wentz trade, they were interested in getting him as well. Trubisky looks to be the fall back option for the Steelers, but I bet they will look at QB as well in the draft. |
Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms the Colts are interested in a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo.
With Kirk Cousins signing an extension with the Vikings and Mitchell Trubisky signing with the Steelers, the already-limited quarterback market is quickly drying up. The Steelers had apparently been in the mix for Jimmy G, so that is one less competitor for Indy. There was a Monday report that the Niners could wait until training camp to flip Garoppolo, but the heavy odds are that he will be moved this week. Lolololololol. |

It's hard to figure out what all these teams are thinking - we can only speculate. My thoughts are that the Steelers' signing of MT, in a way, validates the Commanders' pursuit of him before the trade deadline. There's a couple schools of thought as to whether he can be a productive QB in this league, but I don't think the Steelers are signing him to be anything other than their starter. We'll have to wait and see what the contract details are. As I said before, I would have been fine bringing MT here. He may have been cheaper than Wentz, but I'm not sure he would have produced better results. Time will tell on all of that - the $$ and the production. No way Steelers fans react like the fans on this board though... Can't really replace Big Ben, but with what's out there, MT is probably their best option at this point. Wonder if they were in on Wentz? Seems like they were, but I can't remember. |

I'd rather have Trubisky and the picks than Wentz w/o the picks. |
Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style
And I'd rather have either one of them than Jimmy G.
Wentz is blah to me, Jimmy would be yuck city. |

Wentz would fit perfectly in Pitt, he’s a Big Ben clone actually.

Id rather have Trubisky and picks but I think Trubisky and the Steelers were linked for a while now and we/league knew it. Interested to see the Trubisky contract. Will be jealous if its a deal you can get out of after 1 year, if they had to commit to him for 3 years then not so much. |

He learned it from his buddy Kirk. On a serious note, good signing for Jacksonville, gotta project Trevor. |

Re: Free Agency Around the NFL Style
Kind of proves it was all about money for him, and all of his assertions about liking it here and wanting to stay were as fake as they sounded. I can respect if he wanted to go to a winning term or a more highly respected franchise given the history here, but going to the Jags is purely about the money

There's nothing wrong with going after the money. But this should shut up the "no one wants to come here" crowd. A lot of players are going to chase the money. |

If they draft a rookie, probably. I'd love it if we traded with them during the draft and pick up their next year's 1st rounder. |
