I'll put it in here also...

NFL Network is now calling Romo's rib fracture a puctured lung, and now a collapsed lung or pneumothorax.
Romo better be in the lineup next week. Im so sick of hearing this heroic, tough crap from the so called experts who just last week bashing him. what a bunch of damn idoits.
It is being reported now as of 6:26 pm on Monday that Romo suffered a punctured lung and a broke rib.

So my question is why would Romo even risk playing against our Defense.
Feel free to punch holes in my theory, but I think he thinks Dallas fans are becoming disenchanted with him, and that he needs to put out lest he go the way of Chicago-era Rex Grossman.
A sack a game is actually quite terrible. 3 or more is a "good day" in terms of getting sacks.
So you are trying to say that 16 sacks in a season is slouching? I no thinkie so Mr.

Sack leaders for the entire NFL the last 5 seasons. Seems like the league leaders are closer to 16 per season (1 per game) than 48 per season (3 per game)....

2010 - DeMarcus Ware DAL 15.5
2009 - Elvis Dumervil DEN 17.0
2008 - DeMarcus Ware DAL 20.0
2007 - Jared Allen KC 15.5
2006 - Shawne Merriman SD 17.0

A sack a game for a player is great, but a sack a game for a team is pretty bad.

Re: Player Injury Report Thread

SIR CP, I understand what you were trying to say, you were basing your stats on the team, not a player. 8 sacks is bad for a team for 8 games.

I also feel like this defense and the experience of the guys we have will create more than a sack this coming monday. It is a new year and while past stats can help make assumptions they do not predict a variable of improvement. Even though they seem so evenly distributed.

Arrgh!... I don't know if Rex Grossman is a good comparision as Romo would most certainly land a starting job with one of the many NFL franchises that are in need of a QB.

Also, as far as him feeling pressure, I believe that all QBs feel pressure to perform as a professional. TH is the starter in Dallas, which we all know is a pressure packed environment, he recieves pressure from the fan base, local media, national media, the coaches, and the owner. I would think this plus his own desire to win would make him play either the way we saw last week and the way we saw this week.

Other than that I did not completely understand what you were trying to say.

Per Mort:

Tony will be playing next Monday night. I hope Ryan and Brian are foaming at the mouth after hearing the news.
I disagree. I was high on the kid, but apparently he isn't really close to being able to the take the field as an NFL receiver yet. That's what ESPN980's Chris Russell said anyway. If that's true, he'd probably hurt us.
agreed.. I'm ready to shelf the rookie surprise/breakout title he was given by a couple of writers...

I do hope that he develops but I think that Gaffney is doing what he would be.. and holding on

Think Mort may be jumping the gun a bit there. Too early to know for sure...but he'd know more so than I would

I don't think that Hankerson will be getting on the field anytime soon either, but I wouldn't take Chris Russell's opinion on this too highly. He also thought the redskins were going to cut Banks, and probably still wants them to because he's just a "specialist".

I'll try this again..... all media outlets are basing their assumption Tony will be playing off of the HC saying today in his media session that Tony will be playing. It is also understood he made that comment prior to Romo having his MRI or X-Rays or whatever. It has been reported late that Romo had a "collapsed lung" not just a broken rib. This is the lates from the team/medical staff....
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who played with fractured ribs, also had a collapsed lung and will undergo additional tests this week, the team said Monday.
"Additional testing on the fractured rib of Tony Romo today revealed that he also has evidence of a pneumothorax -- a condition that is not unusual for an injury such as the one Romo sustained in the game in San Francisco," the Cowboys said in a statement. "Varying degrees of a pneumothorax can heal in differing time frames. The Cowboys medical team will continue to monitor the situation and conduct additional tests as the week progresses."
Romo's status for the Week 3 game against the Washington Redskins remains "up in the air," a team source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.
NOTE: In the last sentence it says Romo's status is "up in the air". Personally I highly doubt he plays and I can't imagine the League would allow him to play knowing he has such a serious injury and personally I feel it's worse then a concussion.

Maybe Tony will fly to Europe to receive the stem cell treatment Peyton Manning did :)
