All things NFL Offseason 2019.

Always a bitter sweet day for football fans..

Time for the off season to start , everyone is now 0-0.

News and Notes :

Don't know much about Flores but I don't recall many ex pats coordinators making it far as head coaches...

Also the AAF is starting this week for those interested.

I'm actually intrigued by this league, and PFF will be grading players just like NFL and CFB.

per Adam Schefter Eagles use 5th year option on Foles

And Foles voids it ! (cost him $2 million) He will be a free agent unless the Eagles use the franchise tag... $25 million

This was the plan all along. Eagles gonna franchise him and trade him, probably to the Jags for a 3rd rounder or in a player-for-player swap.

I realize he has had an up and down career, but how is Nick Foles only worth a 3rd rounder?

Because he hasn't done jack elsewhere than Philly.

I don't think any of them have been successful, except Bill O'Brien.

Bill O'Brien is gonna Mike Tomlin this opportunity in Houston....where you have the talent, but underachieve enough to keep your job.

As time has gone on Tomlin looks worse and worse as a coach.

Huh?

Tomlin has never coached a season below 8-8. In fact, he has 8 seasons of 10 wins or more (out of 12). He's also got 2 AFC Championships and a Superbowl ring.

I don't think that's anything to scoff at. Especially when we haven't won more than 10 games since Gibbs did it in 1991, almost 30 years ago :puke:

I would be more than happy with a coach of Tomlin's level.

Re: All things NFL Offseason 2019.

Yeah Tomlin is a solid HC, Bill Belichick isn't walking around for everyone. I'd love to have a consistent winner like Tomlin

125-66

Tomlin has had great talent and good positional coaches with a great FO in place.

He constantly under achieves imo

Re: All things NFL Offseason 2019.

Tomlin is solid but needs good coordinators around him. He's in a good stable spot with a borderline HOF QB. A lot of coaches could go there and win.

Damn.. I suppose Redskins FO will have to rework few players' contracts if we want to sign a pass rusher.. I personally like Tyrell Williams and I would love for us to cut Richardson and sign Williams but it will happen only in my dreams. Even I am not sure if he is worth that much though.

He has had good talent and one of the best run FO's in the league, i'll give you that. But I just can't consider him an "underachiever" when his record is what it is.

He's also had to deal with a lot of big personalities in Pitt. and seemingly doesn't miss a beat.

Im not saying Tomlin isn't solid...I just think with that talent they should have had some more rings to show. How he didn't handle big personalities is one may have lead to the under achieving.

He wasn't good with Jets but I think he was decent with us? Roullier is definitely better than Long at C but we don't have adequate C backup, as well as guard backup. With our history of weak Oline depth, we need more players who can jump in and help offense to not miss a beat.. Long could be a good backup if he doesn't win LG spot by the time training camp ends.

bringing back as a Depth swing Guard/Center I would be down for that absolutely. He's not a starter...We start the season with him at LG is us as a Franchise continuing to fail at roster building.

Skins won't be able to grab a top tier FA , since our cap room is so shitty. Hopefully they lock up BS soon, that will help with the 2019 cap I believe.

Fournette has big character issues, won't mesh well with Wentz imo. Jags had a miracle run 2 years ago, this season proved who they really are.

I thought they may be one to draft Jones or Lock. And wasn't Keenum on a 3 year deal with them? Maybe Shurmur brings Keenum there since he worked well in his system before.

The Keenum era ended quickly. Good move for Denver. Flacco is still a solid starter and better than Keenum.

I think it was 2 years deal.. And I doubt this means Broncos will not draft a QB although, I imagine it's unlikely for them to draft a QB with their 1st rd pick. This might be good thing for Redskins.

That squashes all of those "Flacco to Washington" predictions.....

It also suggests that Denver might be in the QB market in this years draft. Flacco is long in the tooth to be considered a long-term franchise QB.

Role may be more of a bridge.

If I’m a Broncos fan this move does nothing for me. Flacco is a slight upgrade at best.

They could but getting Flacco says they’re trying to win now. They’ve got other spots to upgrade.

Well Denver I’m sure will be releasing him and he shouldn’t be that expensive. If Smith doesn’t play this year I would be fine in having the Skins rent Case for a year. He’s as good as Colt and at least he’s proven he can stay healthy which Colt can’t do,Skins don’t have a lot of options

Was he junk with the Vikings? It’s not like Denver was loaded with offensive talent and they had injuries on their offense line also.Anyway I’m not saying he’s great, just that he would be a decent fill in with the skins limited options. We already agreed Colt was not the answer,so what’s your plan? Draft a rookie and throw him in the fire right away? Bridgewater? He played like shit for Saints last game,so who do you think Skins can afford to sign that would be better stopgap?
