So much for the hands off approach.
Per Grant Paulson: Dan Snyder is running the house-cleaning show solo today. He is handling exit conversations with departing staffers like Larry Hess in his office at the park. Used to be other people to do that but with Allen out and other changes in the works it's his show today.
I don't think what's being described here is out of bounds at all. Whenever it's time to do the house cleaning in any business, the owner usually is involved in the process to a degree because it usually means a lot of people, if not all, positions are now open and the remaining people is the owner and a few other people. My main concern is Snyder continues to meddle in the decision making process AFTER all the positions are filled. |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
Good for Dan Snyder to meet people face to face and talk for himself. It seems he has a certain phobia for small talk and connecting with people. Phobias arent rational, my sister in law cant drive over a bridge and she lives in Annapolis.
Perhaps he is trying to come out of his shell. Or perhaps this is just a one-off event bc of circumstances. Who knows, maybe he will directly address the media or fans. |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
This reminds me of the Shanahan hire. A guy who wants full control of football decisions.
I'm crossing my fingers that he's here long enough to build a winner. How long will it take for either Rivera to despise Synder or Synder to despise Rivera? |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
i like what im seeing so far Dan ..Its been said before keep the heads rolling with more house cleaning . welcome aboard Ron ...

Re: Ron Rivera Thread

Good. Snyder spent too many years hiding behind Bruce, who usually got someone else to do his dirty work. He who passes the sentence should swing the sword. |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
Lots and lots of wrongs need to be righted. Dan meeting with people for exit interviews is one of the ways to make that happen. He should have been in the meetings all along. That he's doing now is late, but better late than never.

Look like Wilks is not coming, not that I am devastated by that
John Keim Verified account @john_keim Follow Follow @john_keim More Source close to Steve Wilks said at this time he does not expect him to join Ron Rivera in Washington as the DC. Had coached with him in Carolina. 6:41 am - 31 Dec 2019 John Keim Verified account @john_keim 6m6 minutes ago More I don’t even know that I should use a qualifier. Asked again. Told simply “he’s not coming”. |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
So Ron’s wife was a former coaching assistant for the Mystics, maybe having spent time in Washington helped convince her husband? Just saying.

But he still has a long way to go in winning anyones trust back. Let's remember he hired a two time winning SB coach and totally undermined him. I still don't trust him, only time will tell if he's truly going to do things the right way. |
Re: Ron Rivera Thread
Matt Cavanaugh might be safe, he’s worked with Ron in the past:
