Black Monday 2022 thread

Anybody but Joe Judge and I'll be happy.

Thanks for getting this thread started. Brian Flores goes 10-6 and 9-8 and they fire him?

Not surprised about Vikes and Bears moves.

I know you guys already started in the week 18 thread, but this deserves its' own thread imo.

I'm more surprised about Flores being canned than anything else, he did a good job with that team the last two years.

Flores surprises me in two years went 7-5 in division including 3-1 against the Pats. Really can't ask more than that considering they were bottom dwellers for so long. Someone will be getting a good coach.

Sounds like he a had a power struggle with the GM. That's Miami's loss.

I like Andrew Brandt a lot and agree with him on placing some blame on the organization about what's happening to the Dolphins. But did ANYONE think during the pre-draft process that Herbert was going to be this good?

@AndrewBrandt
Dolphins drafted Tua ahead of Herbert and traded the Eagles a first-round pick to move up 6 spots. But the head coach is fired.
Really surprising about Flores. I feel there is something going on w/ the assistant coaches that out of New England. Flores won 8 of of 9 games to finish 9-8 and he's gone? Has to be something going on where he must be rubbing people the wrong way.

Judge has to go after yesterday, running QB sneaks on 2nd and 3rd downs. That was a give up wave the white flag shit. No way can you bring that type of fuckery back to your team.

Staley should be gone as well. He cost his team two games that I know of by constantly going for it on 4th down. Chargers should be in the playoffs. They're home cause of him.
Until recently, Bill O'Brien was the only NE assistant that had any success as a head coach. That is until he ran the Texans into the ground. Most of them haven't been good and don't last long.

That being said, I think Flores did a good job in Miami. I'm sure he'll be candidate for another HC position.

Miami must have a commitment from someone…you don’t make that move unless you got a replacement

Re-posting on this thread:

Oh man, are the Giants going to keep their clown coach? Please do. LOL.

@JayGlazer
I believe Giants brass is torn on what to do w Joe Judge bc of revolving door of coaches they’ve had in recent years. Have hesitation to move on bc they’d add to that revolving door. At same time I have heard a ton of frustration inside that locker room. Not a little, a lot

And they also won 8/9 to close the year and swept the Patriots too. But yes, Flores was the problem.

:rolleyes:

Current openings:

HC - Jacksonville, Denver, Minnesota, Chicago, Miami

GM - Minnesota, Chicago

Who goes where?

Re: Black Monday 2022 thread

There are some appealing openings with some young QBs to scaffold

Re: Black Monday 2022 thread

I can see Flores going to Chicago, though of course depends on the GM hire.

Minn is tough because they are not dire. But again, it depends on the GM.

I could see someone like Bienemy being good in Jax, but I think they'll go with an established HC after this years car crash.

Broncos ownership situation could preclude an immediate hire; they could be looking at a top down clear out, maybe including the locker room.

If I’m Jacksonville I’ve allready hired Flores..

I could see Jim Harbaugh in Chicago if he thinks Fields is the guy.

Dumb of Miami to fire Flores. They dropped a number of games when Tua was out and came to play every week. A friend who is a huge Phins fan said to me, “Why can’t we ever have nice things?”

I wonder if Jax gives Leftwich a shot. He’d be a sentimental favorite.
