Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
I wonder what could have been with RG3 if he and the Redskins did things differently. Meddling Snyder making him his favorite son, Shanny letting him play when injured, and Robert's own reckless play contributed to a quick down fall.

Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
This is fun. My heart wants to put Sean Taylor #1 but we unfortunately only got to see four years of him so it's pretty hard to put him ahead of Trent and Kerrigan. Also Samuels is way too low on this list. Dude made six pro bowls in his ten seasons from the LT spot, one of the most important positions on the field.
1) Trent Williams 2) Chris Samuels 3) Ryan Kerrigan 4) Sean Taylor 5) Brandon Scherff 6) Brian Orakpo 7) Jonathan Allen (leadership counts for something to me) 8) Robert Griffin III 9) Carlos Rogers 10) Lavar Arrington 11) Jason Campbell 12) LaRon Landry 13) Patrick Ramsey 14) Rod Gardner 15) Josh Doctson Not going to rank Payne, Sweat or Haskins yet. Too soon. |

Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
I agree with SunnySide about Chris Samuels. He was TW before we had TW, and he played his heart out till the end. TW was better (more athletic) but the layers of issues from early suspensions til now have to count against his final placement.
Here is my list: OL Chris Samuels OL Trent Williams LB Ryan Kerrigan S Sean Taylor OL Brandon Scherff DL Jonathan Allen - I agree with Schneed about leadership. Plus I think his game will skyrocket under Del Rio DB Carlos Rogers I know he dropped int's, but his coverage skills were top notch LB Brian Orakpo I mostly remember him not living up to expectations LB Lavar Arrington mostly due to Snyder's early interference but more hype than action QB RG3 oh well ought to drop further because of how many 1st's we gave up for him, but the rest of the list is just bad QB Patrick Ramsey QB Jason Campbell CB Laron Landry WR Rod Gardner WR Josh Doctson |

Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
Taylor was the best player on that list. He's #1.
The worst was Docston. He is now on the Jets and probably won't be playing football come Sept. |
Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
Trent Williams
Sean Taylor Chris Samuels Lavar Arrington Brandon Scherff These guys are the only ones that could play at an elite level consistently. Lavars hit on Aikmen is enough to put him on this list. Orakpo and Kerrigan have the stats and probowls but never showed up in big games. Now our 2nd rounders...:Flush: |
Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
The amount of total draft-busts in this list is just depressing. But you have to remember Bruce Allen and Vinny Cerrato we’re making the draft choices. The real poll is to vote on who was worse: Allen or Cerrato? Both were terrible GMs who couldn’t even get real starters even with first round draft choices!

Good point. How much different would the Redskins have been if Mike Shanahan would've had the deal that Rivera has now, and Snyder didn't "mingle" with his favorite players. |
Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
I'll do it a little differently and just group them
Studs: Taylor Williams Samuels Scherff Kerrigan Solid: Arrington Allen Payne Landry Rogers Orakpo Duds or Busts: Campbell Ramsey Doctson Gardner RG3 TBD: Sweat Haskins |
Re: Rank the Skins 1st Round Picks Since 2000
