Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
We could use Wentz in a draft package to try to get Watson or move up in draft. Who knows.
this is the type of shit player this is only willing to come here. |

Whatever, hope he can stay healthy

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
The Colts have agreed to trade Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders (Twitter link via Adam Schefter of ESPN.com). Details of the deal are still emerging, but the package of packs is believed to “include two third-round picks.”
The Commanders were previously linked to Wilson and said to have interest in 49ers signal caller Jimmy Garoppolo. Ultimately, they didn’t want to wait on the Niners, choosing instead to pivot to Wentz. The 29-year-old (30 in December) may be a consolation prize, but he’s still a strong pickup Ron Rivera & Co. They’ll have Wentz under contract at a $22MM salary this year with a $6.294MM roster bonus. After that, they’ve got him for two more seasons. In 2023, he’s due $20MM in salary with a $6.176MM roster bonus. In 2024, that salary increases to $21MM with a $6.235MM bonus payout. Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Interesting take from JP:
@JPFinlayNBCS Wentz threw for 3500 yards on 63 percent passing last year, 27 TDs vs just 7 INTs. Stats look good. But my biggest concern is Indy just traded for him, and now they trade him without a clear upgrade. Something doesnt add up |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
We all might agree on something for once!!!
This is the only thing good to come out of this Wentz trade. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
rumored to be 2 3rd round picks - better not be anything else.
|
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
We've ran a "take what the defense gives you" quick pass play type offense
Wentz is the antithesis of a quick pass play QB. Assuming he doesnt go on IR week 1 ... our offense should have more legit long balls along with more sacks, more strip sacks, more 3rd and longs. |

Exactly. And even that feels steep. Unless they’re planning additional moves here or drafting a QB, this feels like years more of mediocrity in the making. Seriously, this is depressing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Something doesnt add up
While he flashed the occasional brilliant throw down the stretch, more often than not, he was inaccurate, showed a lack of pocket poise, and was turnover prone—often holding the football for far too entirely long. He needs to start playing with confidence/decisiveness again, regain his lost mechanics and erase acquired bad habits, and start checking down to his underneath routes (*hitting his crossing routes consistently also wouldn’t hurt*). https://www.stampedeblue.com/2022/1/10/22877625/colts-head-coach-frank-reich-cant-quite-commit-to-qb-carson-wentz-entering-early-offseason I read a good article a few months ago re Colts coaching staff being fed up with Wentz. That the game plan was for him to make quicker decisions, taking what the D gave him, utilize the run and he did do that in the middle part of the season and the staff was relieved but then he started going back to bad habits of holding the ball ---- Our entire offensive strategy is crossing routes and designed check downs. Guess we get to see if that is Turner's philosophy or just the way he had to call games given the QB limitations. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Well he is an upgrade over what we got... LMAO.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
So we're getting Wentz and their 2nd rounder as well?

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
plus we only gave up two third rounders for him ,so we still have are 1st pick this year and next year we could still draft a quarterback this year in the first or next year , i don,t think this will happen but we could also use him as trade if watson gets cleared , but im curious who does everyone want if were not getting wilson or watson
|
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
No doubt talent wise he's a big upgrade over Heinicke. If he gets his head on straight he could be dangerous. Big if though.
|
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Obviously better than what we have. Anyone who doesn't think so is goofy.
Not a great long-term answer though. I don't think there's a long-term answer available right now. Have to be patient and wait for the right opportunity. |

But anyone who says that is really really pissing me off.
The dude is fucking garbage if you ask me. Just should have stayed w/ TH. I can't stand Wentz. The guy doesn't know how to just move the chains. Plus he is made of glass. Pretty much says everything you need to know about the guy when the one coach who had a history w/ him couldn't wait to get rid of him. Also the Eagles kicked him to the curb for Hurtz who is basically a running back playing QB. |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I don't like this move, but you can get rid of him next year if things don't work out or the team hits on a rookie. I don't think you can do that with Trubisky, Jameis, or Mariota.
Now, they have their #11 pick and see if a QB falls to them, pick BPA, or trade down/acquire picks for 2023. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
It's a one year see what he's got type of move. I don't hate it. Don't love it either. And it doesn't stop us from drafting someone.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
So we're getting Wentz and their 2nd rounder as well?
ESPN's Adam Schefter was first to report the news. Indianapolis will receive a third-round picks in 2022 and 2023, with the latter potentially becoming a second-round pick if Wentz plays 70% of the team's snaps, Schefter reported. The teams also will swap 2022 second-round picks, per Scheter. ----------------- so we swap 2nd rounders and go from 42 to 47? one of the 3rds are conditional |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
We got him for cheap. It’s not a bad deal at all.
They won’t draft a QB at 11 now though. I don’t see why they would Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Frank Reich giving up on Wentz is a bad sign.
The rumors of him being a headcase are probably true. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
I hate it cause they just gave up two 3rd round picks for a injury prone BUM that was going to get cut. Could be a 2nd rounder if this BUM plays 70% of the snaps.
This is PISS POOR GM work at it's finest. This is why you hire a legit GM who knows the value of players. Wentz has ZERO value and you just gave them two high draft picks. |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
He’s better than Taylor folks. Only Winston imo was a better choice but he’s also coming off a big injury… our choices were slim after Wilson

IMO 3rd rounders are too valuable. Your BEST player was drafted in the 3rd round you stupid fuckers... smh.. |
Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
he is way better than TH ,if he g throws 27 TD,S next year and only 7 INT we all will be estactic
