Case Keenum to the Skins
Wow. I have no words for this...

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
"Broncos have trade parameters with Washington for QB Case Keenum: Broncos get WAS 6th in 2020, WAS gets Broncos 7th in '20, per source. Keenum's contract reworked. Broncos pay him $500K restructure bonus and pay $3.5 million of his $7M salary. Washington pays $3.5 mi. "
Its fine for one year. What did we realistically expect for this season? Would have rather had Rosen but Cards seemed to stop playing ball on the trade. Its going to be a 6/7 win season. Maybe we finally toss a season and build a tem for the future. We are paying him 250k more than Colt. When people were talking $18M(unsubstantiated) 20mins ago, I was going to lose it. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
This organization is just fucked up, maybe it’s a plan to package him to AZ for Rosen who knows
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
When Smith goes on IR his salary doesn’t count against the cap anymore right?

Oh it does...thats why we have no f'n money. This is fine. Had 0 expectations this year. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
And my friends to begin making fun of me in 3.2.1....
NOW WE ABSOLUTELY BETTER BE DRAFTING A QB! |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
idiotic move. Rosen is better then Keenum. Hell a few of the qb's in the draft are better then him
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
If this team really goes with Case Keenum as QB1 I’m probably not watching many games. What a dumpster fire
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Pretty much got him for a bag of chips. And they even threw in a 7th rounder lol geeesh what a cluster f.

Exactly. This is fine. Draft someone and then we have 3 30 year olds to help develop him. Bronco fans are actually the ones upset. They paid out the ass for 1 year |
Pretty much got him for a bag of chips. And they even threw in a 7th rounder lol geeesh what a cluster f.
And we keep our 1st rounder and potentially could trade down for more picks.
I need to ask my Broncos fan friend what's wrong with his team. Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
He’s better than Colt I guess
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Can't we just do a tank job? Do we really need 6 wins this year?
Fuck this shit. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Per sources, Case wants to go to AZ , He knows Kliff very well. This is a plan to deal him for Rosen after they take Murray..
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Yawn. Keenum is a stop gap. He's competition for Colt and the rookie.

Why wouldn't the Cardinals just give Denver the same pick themselves and still try to get high pick for Rosen? |

probably has to do with contract, also skins couldn’t wait on az to pull the trigger. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Just hope this is a depth move and not a final answer to the starting QB question.

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
At worst it’s a 1 and done for Keenum and this regime
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Tank for Tu'a is underway!
You can't hate having a backup like Keenum for $3.5M. What sucks is there's no starter. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Case isn’t bad enough to get a top 3 pick
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
AS isn't coming back this year. This is competition for Colt, and whoever else they trade for or draft. Pretty sure they're not done addressing the QB position, whether it's still a play for Rosen, or drafting a QB in the first couple rounds.

Yeah at first I was mad but now I can see it’s either for 1 yr or it’s for a possible deal for Rosen. we’ll see |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Just seems like we got a better colt...but then why have colt? Cut colt, sign JJ for cheaper and draft a QB.

Colt sucks, he’s no more than a backup. Case is way better and he’s not any good lol |

Can't hurt really. I mean right now they have two QBs rehabbing from broken legs, one most certainly won't be ready to play this year, the other seems to find ways to get hurt every year. This actually makes sense since they can't afford a Teddy Bridgewater like signing, and still have cap space leftover to improve the team. Hell, the Broncos are paying half his salary this year. I say the Redskins got a pretty good deal here. Not splashy, but good. |

But that's not a consequential move, a good backup isn't going to help you win more games. We still need the starter level guy. |

Are you the only one that understands this move? Keep in mind Keenum had 3,500 yds 22 tds 7 Int. in 2017....slightly worse year than Alex Smith. And the cost is minimal by QB standards. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
So how accurate is it that we will be paying 3.5 million for Keenum this year? If that is true, this is a low-risk move.
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
I like the move.. ask the Vikings about getting rid of Case for Kirk.. how did that work out! I must be crazy but I would say Keenum is better than a reach at a rookie .. Arizona traded up to take Rosen and most think he sucks.. well if you believe that then this move ain’t all bad.. I refuse to bitch about every move this team makes.. let em win the season opener and half of you guys will be back on the positive vibe!! Colt McCoy can’t and won’t be the QB that wins games for us .. Keenum is way better than McCoy! With that said .. maybe still try and get Rosen IF the price is right.. if you think about it getting Case May help to get Rosen because now we don’t have to be desperate..let’s see what AZ does now..

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
I'm probably the only one who likes this trade. Redskins didn't give shit to get him, he has thrown over 3k yards 3 years in a row (almost 4k last year), he took Minnesota to the playoffs. Denver's OL sucked last year not as good as Minnesota's 2 years ago.
https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KeenCa00.htm This is how you help Keenum: With the 15th pick you trade down, get extra picks. 1st and 2nd rounds either you get a stud OG or WR, with the extra second rounder you get your young QB. Rounds 3-7 nothing but D and TE, OLB, S, CB, MLB. With drafting an OG, this line is going to be awesome with the exception of Moses who needs to get his shit together and protect Colt or Keenum whoever wins the QB competition. |

They will probably draft another QB this year. McCoy and Keenum are free agents in 2020. |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
I would have preferred to use the 3.5 million on one of the many other holes this team has. If this team drafts a QB it will have money tied into at least 4 if not 5 QBs? AS, CM, CK, JJ and a rook?
|
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Jay (to Bruce): "We can't tank. You and I are gonna get fired if we lose a bunch of games this year."
Bruce: "Dan is not going to let us invest in a QB. We have too much already invested there. Plus, didn't you say you could win with Colt" Jay: "I thought it was obvious I was kidding." (SILENCE) |
Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
Shit I called this a month ago, but I thought the Broncos would release him and we would be interested,Didn’t think we would trade for him
|

Awful

What do you think the team should do at QB ? |

Rosen is still very much in play folks

Re: Case Keenum to the Skins
How is this even remotely a bad move? What is the down side? We swapped picks next year. We got him for nothing. All this is, is Mark Sanchez insurance so we aren't in chaos mode again.
This will not be our week 1 starter. |
