Around the NFL: Week 1
The offseason thread is still going strong even though we're past the preseason now, so let's get ready for week 1.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32140636/new-york-jets-wide-receiver-jamison-crowder-positive-covid-19-source-says Not sure if Jamison Crowder is vaxxed or not but he tested positive so now his status for next week is in question. |
Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
It's almost football season.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
I have a feeling that the Bucs are going to steam roll the Cowboys on Thursday.
|
Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
Apparently one of the backups is out also as a close contact, it isn't going to be pretty on Thursday..... Dak is not going to get a chance to get into a rythm, I can't wait for the season to start

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
Dallas is going to get curb stomped by Tampa.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
Question…is the NFL testing vaccinated players? My understanding getting the vaccine rightfully eliminated this step.

If they weren't, how would vaccinated players like Zach Martin know they tested positive? It's my understanding vaxxed players get tested once a week and unvaxxed get tested every day. |

A fully vaccinated player can return to play in five days if he does not have symptoms following two negative tests separated by 24 hours. An unvaccinated player faces at least a 10-day quarantine.
I got my info from ESPN. Assuming Martin doesn't care that people know he's vaccinated. |

@mortreport · 4h Talked or text with number of NFL coaches/execs who are nervous about COVID-19 testing today with the number of players who visited their former college teams’ opening games (and social gatherings) this past weekend. |

Has there even been any player who got sick actually show symptoms? I dunno, seems like you got vaccinated you really don’t need testing unless you are sick. I totally get the unvaccinated having strict protocols |

I dunno, seems like you got vaccinated you really don’t need testing unless you are sick. I totally get the unvaccinated having strict protocols
It's tough because vaccinated people can spread delta so if you have some players on team who are not vaccinated, you need to make sure the whole team do their part to protect the unvaccinated players. I think the unvaccinated players will start to reconsider once their team loses games because of them. Tampa Bay team is probably the only team that doesn't really need the regular tests and won't lose because of the virus. |

He was talking about it on 105.7 the fan and even a month afterward he said he felt fine then but still had some fatigue and no sense of taste or smell. Regardless the teams always keep it pretty hushed how severe an illness or injury is. Always playing chess. |

Seems like if Martin was positive on the rapid, he needs to get the PCR test immediately to back up that result. If that negative, he should play. But your logic makes sense |

But your logic makes sense
Nah, I like the current method better. He needs to just take some time off, rest, and come back after Sunday. Even if he doesn't have COVID I'm sure this has been an extremely traumatic experience for him. |

Was that a Denver based story? Just curious as to why they refer to him as former Denver Broncos running back, I thought he played for Washington for much longer.

This is literally the best day of universal NFL fans. It is the Schroedinger's Cat day of NFL Fandom. For each and every fan, Every team you root for is poised for their greatest year ever and every team you root against has the possibility of collapse. As soon as tomorrow's game is done some subset of NFL fans will no longer have that same ability.

Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
Dang ..forgot the Boys drafted Jabril Cox in the 4th. They throw picks at LB like we do DL.
Vander Esch Jaylon Smith Micah Parsons Jabril Cox plus former Hawks safety Keanu Neal converted to LB ^^ if they stay healthy, best LB unit in the league? They all seem to be north-south stop run, sack type guys but if Parsons or Cox can cover .. |
Re: Around the NFL: Week 1
Go Tampa, Fuck Dallas!

That's why 8 of their 11 picks this year were on the defensive side. Of course a contributing factor was their offense taking a step back due to their O-line issues, Dak out, and Zeke not having a great year. If Dak is close to 100%, and their D is even a little better, they could have a pretty big turn around. I don't like saying that, but it is a real possibility. That being said, I'm hoping they get skull-dragged tonight! |

Over Tampa? No shot |

The Browns were 11-5 last year, could they make the jump to an elite team in the AFC? I say why not?

I love the story and Baker is awesome but I just don't see them winning it all. Are they even better than Pittsburgh? IDK |

Yeah…maybe not over Tampa I really like KC…and I’ll take Buffalo next. But Cleveland is right there. I like them better than Baltimore. |

I'd definitely take them over the Steelers. They're only going as far as Big Ben can take them and I think the tread on those tires are showing a lot of wear. |

Big Ben doesn't have a lot left in the tank and his receivers led the league in drops last year. Aside from an improvement in the running game, I don't know how good they are going to be this year. |

Yeah they were kind of a house of cards last year, once we beat them it all came crumbling down |
