Ravens Postgame

Positives

Terry is amazing
Gibson was a steal
OL wasn’t garbage
1-3 and still lead the East lololol

Negatives
Play calling was bland and they basically handcuffed Haskins all game

Defense is lost in the secondary big time
Collins sucks
Ron is playing to lose and that’s fine because he wants to build his own team so whatever.

Zero interior D line push. I know allen and Payne do a lot of things well that don't go on the stat sheet but I need more from them. They need to be great not just good.

Play calling .. I don't think Haskins is comfortable in anything but throws in front of him like slants or crosses

Secondary played above their weight

Good : McLaurin as usual and Gibson. He is fast. I like both them alot.

Bad : crapkins, coaching, hopkins, i would say defense but they were on the field too much. Though our secondary is weak.

Re: Ravens Postgame

Terry Mac showing up to play every week. Everytime I see someone take a slant and get 10 yards after the catch, I feel like it's Terry without even seeing the #.

Haskins - well at least he had no turnovers today. But god damn we are never going to be competitive if the coaches don't trust him enough to develop an intermediate passing game. Thanks for the tease at the end to Terry Mac, it was only about 40 minutes of game time too late. It's concerning that he still has those inaccurate throws (even what should be easy check downs) that make you say wtf every week.

Everything else had flashes of potential from time to time but we're a long ways away from putting together a complete 60 minutes of football in all phases.

Still not sold on Apke/Collins back there. Apke is the more replaceable candidate considering Collins contract. I also feel like our secondary still needs to communicate better. I'm not sold on our defense yet either, while acknowledging even the best defenses have trouble containing the Ravens. There's a reason they're almost undefeated with Jackson as a starter against every team not named the Chiefs.

I don't think it's the coaches not trusting him ... i don't think Haskins has the ability to read a defense, anticipate and throw a ball to a space

He needs to see his guy open before he throws it

You're probably right. If that's the case he won't last half the season.

There are two teams in the league that I think can finish with a worse record than us. The Jets and Giants. We play the Giants though. We got a real shot at Trevor.

Re: Ravens Postgame

Lamar Jackson wasn’t that impressive today either but it’s clear he’s a better passer than DH also.

Re: Ravens Postgame

Positives

1. McLaurin - unless he is badly hurt, McLaurin will end up being a WR GREAT for this team.

2. Gibson had a breakout game- both running and receiving. He’s a real threat as a receiver but just not a big enough substitute for a real #2 or #3 WR.

3. Kendall Fuller - 2 INT! Welcome back!

Ok GAME
4. Haskins has a decent 300yard game and had a beautiful long pass to McLaurin. But that pass was in garbage time and clearly the Ravins were happy to let McLaurin (our biggest threat) have dinky 8 yd passes for most of the game. He had no INT after being put on notice by Rivera. Still, we are waiting for a very, very good game where he SCARES defenses and opens up the running game. His progress is slow, but I guess pretty good for a guy with under 30 games in the last 5.20 years.
I personally don’t think he is going to progress enough to keep the Redskins from drafting for a QB in the first round of the 2021 draft.

BAD MEN:

Both Safeties: Aptke and Collins. Collins had good plays mixed with bad ones. Why are we paying Collins so much money? I can’t remember but was this one of Bruce Allen’s LAST TURDS for this team? Is there no one else in the NFL FA to try instead of Aptke?

Let's be honest....he was doing check downs and relievers were getting yac. He was still pretty inaccurate for about 80% of the game. He didn't throw any interceptions...but he's still throwing oddly off his back foot and off balance. At one point he did a 360 and threw off his back foot with absolutely no pressure on him. This is a kid whose in way over his head.

Start using AGG more, Cam Sims made a couple of catches, bench Darby, start Moreland.

Agreed. As I have said, the “experts” were dazzled by Ohio State’s team play in his senior year, but Haskins has only one season of college experience. Seven games last year and his 4 games this season. Under 30 games experience since high school!! What?? How do you rate a guy, with so little experience, into the first round draft?

Haskins should have been ranked in the second and third round and as a project QB. He’s just too green. But I don’t think Allen is the answer, otherwise someone would have picked him up for the first string. Our offense, WR, TE and OL are a year from being ready for ANY QB!

AGG has one catch for three yards on the season? Is that right?

Re: Ravens Postgame

Ron Rivera said bluntly that he wanted to see what Dwayne Haskins would do if they went for it on 4th and goal. He said Haskins needs to learn and understand the situation. He needed to look into the endzone or put it close to where a player could make a player at the goal line.

And a 22 yd run. They should use him, like they did Harmon last year.

I don’t see why they don’t use AGG now? 1-3 and probably 1-4 next week

The game was pretty much as expected for me, although I thought Haskins would be relieved of his duties at some point.

The worst part of the game for me was seeing Ron by himself taking breaks in the bench. Feel for that man. I respect his want, will, and strength, but I honestly wish he'd take a break, hand it over to Jack, and concentrate on himself.

And he failed. At least take a chance in the end zone, throwing the ball to a guy at the 7 with 3 defenders in front of him was literally wasting the play.

I'm probably one of the few remaining Haskins defenders out there (I still believe it's way too early to make judgement calls to bench him) but he's not helping his case with plays like that.

My only hope is that the deep ball to Terry Mac helps him grow a pair and not be afraid to throw past the first down marker. Right now he's playing out of the Jason Campbell playbook, everything is going within 5 yards of the LOS.

Man seeing Ron Rivera on the bench sucks...respect to the coach, know he is dealing with a lot of more important shit other than ball.

Looks like he was a lil worn out today. Coach, take care of what’s important

In a game we were down 28-7 early in the 3rd quarter. We ran 19 planned run plays in the entire game. 300 passing yards was not because it was from strength, it was from weakness.

Yes it was his first. I think 240 was his high before this. Yac must have accounted for at least 200 of those yards though. All we do is throw screens.

I have a feeling that this team would probably be 3-1 right now with any one of at least 24 other starting QBs in the league. I guess we'll find out this week whether or not Haskins showed progression in the eyes of the coaches. The nail in the coffin for me was NOT throwing it in the end zone on that 4th down play.

I agree. Quarterback is that important. We dont need Aaron Rodgers we just need semi decent out of the position and we could have won a couple more.

I was hoping we'd take Tua at #2 over CY simply because it's hard to turn down a franchise type QB, but I'm glad we did because now we'll have a franchise DE and we'll draft a QB next yr

Tu'a is on the bench, CY has been productive and will be all-pro one day and makes a big difference on D. It doesn't help Haskins to have a weak TE group, inexperienced RB and WR group.

No it doesn’t help but Terry is a top 10 WR, Gibson looks like a future star RB , and Thomas hasn’t been terrible at TE. OL was decent today as well

Very true, but we need another threat on the other side, they have to start using AGG, use Cam Sims more. On D DArby and Apke should be benched, I want Moreland to start and I like Kamren Kurl even if he's a rookie.

I said the very same thing leading up to draft ... without a QB you ain’t got nothing ... As great a prospect as Young is I wanted team to trade out of that spot and get a QB AND another player of need ... OL ,TE , .. it’s water over the damn now... we need a QB !!

He's RG3 2.0 but he can stay healthy, only real difference is he may be a little faster but not by much
