so . . . if Ezekiel Elliot got hurt, and Peterson would have replaced him on the Cowboys . . . what would your feelings be then? The POS is horrible not matter who he plays on . . . but i think the majority of you that are in full support of him are that way because you're hoping he could be good for the Skins, regardless of what he did or whether or not he deserves a chance to play again. The only reason teams and the NFL allow players like him to still play is that there is never enough backlash from fans. Exactly the opposite actually. AP will probably bring in extra $$$ and as long as he does that, let him play. And that is the problem!!

[QUOTE=FrenchSkin;1198482]Of course it would... but not sure this is a very good way of thinking: if the whole society act as if they were the victim, or a relative of the victim, then we might just go ahead and sentence everybody to death ^^
It is not my role to act as if I was close to that kid. If we all did that all the time, it would be the end of justice, society, people having second chances etc...

Now, as Isaid, I do think I understand and respect your POV, and as you said, that dead horse has been beaten to a second death... so let it rest in peace
... have a nice one, and HTTR my friend !

If the whole of society beat four year old boys in the nut sack than we would all deserve to be in jail!
DIE DEAD HORSE DIE!

I have followed the Skins since 1972. I am not thrilled that they have signed a guy convicted of child abuse. However, I am not going to stop rooting for the Skins because they signed a guy whose past actions of which I disapprove.

Should he be in football? Probably not.
Does it bother me that he is playing for my favorite team? Yes.
Am I going to stop watch the Skins because of it? No.

I hope the Skins win the SB and, if AP contributes to that, okay.

Poor choice of words, I guess I should have said minimize.

I think this sums up exactly where we are all at. We have a conundrum folks. It is a very fine line but at the end of the day we can root for the team and not the man. In other words Im not going to buy his dang jersey. That is for sure. Great season or not he cannot “run away” from what he did. Also next year, barring the renaissance of renaissances he will no longer he a Redskin.

Ok put your money up then, turn off the Redskins this season. Either take action, or accept that your faux outrage is empty.

This was not the Redskins first choice nor the second choice it was a situation where a guy did something awful paid the consequences and two or three years later the Redskins had a need and brought him in from that. Again Dallas almost revels in bringing in less than desirable people who are still in the midst of the struggles Cincinnati would be another case. I think that's a major distinction.

I want to emphasize this point - if you’re going to continue buying tickets or buying merchandise or watching the games on TV thereby contributing to the NFL’s TV ratings - then your concern over the Peterson signing is empty and has no teeth behind it.

It’s the equivalent of saying I’m outraged enough by (pick your political issue, school shootings, police violence against black people, etc.) to talk about it on Facebook, but not outraged enough to actually get off my couch and do anything about it. I’ll tell my friends in a bar, “you know they should really ban assault rifles”, but I won’t donate to candidates who support it, and I won’t take a Saturday to march, etc.

Either do something about it, or accept that your opinion doesn’t matter. Continue to blow hot air on a message board if you must, I guess farting in the wind feels good too.

Which act is that? Because I'm not wearing my troll hat at the moment, I'm wearing my basic common sense hat. If you won't turn off the games then you don't really care that much. It's a basic economic decision - you're saying I don't like that they signed a child abuser but I still want to watch the games, ergo you care more about enjoying your Sunday than you do about taking a stand on child abuse.

It's OK, I feel the exact same way. I'm just willing to tell you that's how it is for me. I guess it takes others a while longer to come around to what they see in the mirror.

Blowin' in the Wind by Bob Dylan. I twisted it a little.
