Re: Bill Walsh died
A tragedy indeed...His 49er teams along with our Redskins owned the 80's. May he RIP. Another one of the greats has gone.
The 49ers should really do something special to commemorate him. He is almost the sole reason the 49ers had all that success. He should have a statue out front of the stadium. 75 is a good age to go. You're not a burden on someone else, but you still have good movement and mobility. He lived a great life and will always be remembered by football fans forever. |

Re: Bill Walsh died
God bless Bill Walsh and his family. He was the architect of the west coast offense and for many more important reasons, he will be missed.

Re: Bill Walsh died
Very Very Very Sad...Easily one of the top coaches ever
RIP Bill |
Re: Bill Walsh died
Unbelievably brilliant coach. I love the 80s niners. He completely changed the way quarterbacks manage the game today. Good bye Bill, RIP. Thanks for everything!

And on that note, while Joe Montana was undoubtedly great, he owes a ton to Bill Walsh who utilized him to the fullest. |
Re: Bill Walsh died
RIP Bill Walsh. He was definitely one of the greats of all time, without him we'd be looking at an entirely different game today.

Re: Bill Walsh died
Probably did more to usher in modern offensive football than anyone else.

Re: Bill Walsh died
He was a great coach, I still take Gibbs over him any day. If only Gibbs had Montana or Young, god know how many SB Gibbs would have won. Rumor has it that Joe and Bill didn't really like each other, the fact that Bill was nicknamed the "genius" bothered Joe.

Re: Bill Walsh died
RIP Bill Walsh.

Re: Bill Walsh died
I don't care what anybody says -- 75 is too young.
I hated his teams, but respected the hell out of the guy. He's in the top five easy. |
