Training Camp is fast approaching What....

What position battles are you most interested to see play out and which looks like it's a lock?
1)QB is a lock...Wentz
2)RB with AG as the Bell cow is a lock
3)Starting WR"s should be Mclaurin Samuel Datson
4)The Dline is a lock at starters Sweat Allen Payne Young if he is ready week 1
All the other units playing time and depth chart standing is up for grabs based on performance in TC and preseason games which is a good thing..
What's Your Take?

I really don’t know if there is any major battles, but I’m interested how the rookies fit into their rolls. We took guys who are ready to play, older ages and more experience in the field…the expectation isn’t to sit back and learn but play now and make an impact.

I’m also interested to see how the lack of depth at LB and Corner shakes out. Also who steps into the Buffalo Nickel role…I’m hoping to see Collins resigned if it goes bad.

I wanna see how receivers and lbs work out. We know McLaurin is going to be great, but a lot of talent still at wr for sure. Brown I could see doing great as he's a deep threat specialist. Samuel healthy? Does Dotson start immediately? Think so really. Kid should be great. Also Cam Sims still in the mix. Excited to see how this works out with Wentz at qb now.

Pretty interested to see qbs too. I think people are underestimating Sam Howell also in addition to Wentz. Wentz has all the tools just needs the right coaching and situation. Howell holds numerous UNC all time records and can sling it. People quickly forget he had a 1st rd grade had he been in the 2021 draft. Feel like we're lucky to have gotten him. Both will be a dramatic improvement.

Agree about Howell, although he still has ways to go but Howell is in a good situation as he has little to no expectations from us at this time which will give him the opportunity to work on his mechanics for a while. I'm excited to see what Howell can do in the next 2-3 years.

Hard for me to agree with your perspective on Wentz. He was with good teams in Philly and Indy and IMO his coaches were top-notch. I think he just choked last season due to the pressure of making the playoffs. So, I'd say our QB situation is still shaky

I can’t wait to see Wentz throwing the ball to these receivers.

I’m also gonna call something to watch…Logan Thomas probably not gonna be ready due to the injury, but I’ve heard the guys behind him have really been flashing in the spring. The competition at depth should be really good. Lotta head turning in ota’s with guys catching the ball At the TE position

I'm with you Chico on the TE competition, should be interesting. I think with all the guys that SHOULD be able to catch the ball in this offense, they could almost be a "pass first" offense that sets up the run instead of the latter. I mean Wentz should have games where he hits 9 or 10 different guys.

While I do think that AG will be the "bell cow" to begin the season, he has to be looking over his shoulder - seeing Robinson right on his tail. Robinson is a true RB, while Gibson was a receiver. I don't think it can be understated, the importance of having been a RB all your football life, as opposed to making that position change at the NFL level. Because of that, and with his injury history and intermittent fumblitis, I wouldn't consider AG a lock.

Definitely anxious to see how the TE position shakes out if LT isn't healthy enough to start week 1.

I also want to see how Howell performs and if Heinicke shows any improvement. Howell likely starts as the #3, but I imagine it's only a matter of time before he is the backup. The only things Heinicke has on him at this point is institutional knowledge, and NFL experience.

You know my stance on LB (itsnotonlylackofdepthitslackofstarterswhattheheckaretheywaitingfor), but I don't think we're that short on CB. WJ3, Fuller, St Juste, Danny Johnson is a decent squad IMO, hopefully the 7th round pick Christian Holmes can contribute ?
Don't forget the so called Nickel CB can be a 3rd safety in a lot of cases (or a "don't call him LB" in Collins' case), and with Curl, McCain, Reaves, Forrest and 4th round pick Percy Butler, I think it's safe to say we have decent depth at safety.
Overall, even if you need to have 4 clear starters in your outside CBs+Safeties, I think looking at the overall DB squad, rather than CBs and safeties separately, makes more sense with what NFL secondaries do nowadays.

Philly just wanted to see what they had in Hurts and didn't want to mess around with the large contract they just awarded him. Everyone knows Irsay wanted him gone in Indy even though at one point last season he was in discussion as a top qb for the year.

The tools are all there:

1) Size- 6'5" 237 lbs (don't think fans appreciate this enough)
2) Great arm especially deep
3) Mobile which is unusual for his large size. No he's not Lamar Jackson but the guy can move
4) Highly intelligent

What tools does he lack physically? None. He's also at a very good age at 29. Again, he's got all the tools.

Bates is a very good blocker and catch some too. Also, they are looking at Curtis Hodges 6'8" 240 lbs who can catch also. AGG may be in the mix too.

Yeah I wouldn't put AG down as a lock either, Robinson was drafted for a reason, he's not coming in as a 3rd rounder to sit. AG needs to up his game and hold on to the damn ball. Otherwise BR is going to cut into his workload very quickly.
