QB or BPA for our #1 Draft Pick - 2020
Let the next HC decide.
Thereís something be said for that. This team is the definition of a hot mess. Itís going to take a BIG SALARY, the opportunity to pick the #2 draft pick in 2020, lots of cap room (by dumping Reed, Davis, Moses,Scherff, Norman and Richardson) and some autonomy from the two stooges - Allen / Snyder to attract a really talented OC or DC to be the head coach.

The big question is whether Snyder sheds Bruce Allen to deflect the media and fan anger with a 1-15 season. If Snyder keeps him around as the GM, I just donít see anyone of merit coming to this mess. BAís continual personnel mistakes and arrogance are killing this team. The Snyder /Allen combo is the worst in the NFL and no HC can overcome their buffoonery.
I looked up mocks last night .. all have us taking LT Andrew Thomas. While I am sure Thomas may be a great player and we would be blessed to go Chris Samuels = Trent = Thomas ... I dont know how you pass up on Chase Young, even though we have spent soo many high draft picks on edge.

At #2 overall ... if you dont go BPA ... you are the reactionary redskins.

Tua? I dont know if he is really all that. Im sure he is polished and can read defenses but after reading the scouting reports it seems like Alabama has him get the ball out to his athletes with 5-15 yard passes. Not bad at all for a West Coast 3-5 step drop get the ball out offense.

Burrows or Chase Young for me.
*Burrow, Tua just dislocated his hip so we have to see on the recovery there. For me it is Chase Young and there isn't anything to discuss

We need Chase Young and I agree there is no other option IMO. Do not trade that pick unless u get a boatload in return

QB every year until we find one. It's our only hope.

There is no reason to give up on DH

I still haven't given up on the 1st over all pick. Cincinnati may be 0-10 but half their loses have been by 7 points or less, where all the Redskin losses have been by 2 scores or more except one. The Redskins aren't even competitive.

FWIW , Haskins had his best game yesterday and grade by far

I think Edge Rusher Chase Young will make a bigger impact than OT Andrew Thomas. Although Ryan Kerrigan had a good game against the Jets and is a GREAT role model for the younger players, he is fading this year. Our DL, with the PROPER COACHING, could really be very good and much better than it is now.

Our defense is very vanilla, uncoordinated and doesnít stunt at all. When Greg Manusky is replaced the defense can only go up. I think with just the addition of Young, the replacement of Norman with a excellent FA CB and proper coaching this defense could immediately improve a lot.

Our defense has some real talent, but without a good DC, better schemes and improved position coaches those good players are just wasted.

Chase Young is the best player available in the 2020 draft. He will be a force on this defense.

Why would Alex Smith risk his LONG-Term HEALTH to play again in the NFL?. Snyder owes him a boatload of money - WHETHER HE PLAYS OR NOT!

Secondly, even if Alex Smith out-plays Haskins in Training Camp, the new HC will have been brought to play Haskins and make him to a franchise-level QB, or NOT.

When you spend a first round draft pick for a QB you need to give him the chance to be the franchise QB. It happened with draft failures: Shuler, Jason Campbell and RG3. Historically the Redskins usually give him 20-30 games to prove his worth. That means even if Alex Smith makes a physical comeback he will be a backup QB to Haskins. Perhaps thatís all he wants.

Alex Smith is a bad ass sum' bitch and I respect the hell out of him. That being said, I don't want him to come back. He has had a great career and has made plenty of money. A healthy leg for the next 40 years is worth way more than any more millions of dollars he can make. I would like for him to be a coach here one day.
