Should we be drafting Tua???

So as the draft gets closer, more and more rumors begin to swirl. The draft options that have predominantly been talked about are:

Option A: Draft Chase Young
Option B: If a team offers a king ransom, trade down.

Tua’s medical just recently checked out very positively. I’m warming up more and more to the idea of taking Tua at 2 over Young if RR likes what he sees. Remember, prior to the injury he was the number 1 QB prospect. I think he still would be if it wasn’t for his hip injury. Also, if you go off of their grades coming out of college, Tua graded out significantly higher than Haskins. Maybe RR wants the QB to be HIS guy.

So just to spark another rumor convo, what do y’all think about:

Option C: Drafting Tua

Honestly, I'm tired of depending on players that have potential for medical issues down the line. I'm sure Tua will be fine down the road, but after having dealt with some many injuries and injury-prone key players. I'd rather not.

I know it is a bit of a close-minded statement. But let's roll with Haskins, especially given the improvement he shown late in the season.

This really is a good Question, his potential is out the roof. Wilson like but can he stay healthy in the NFL? Deadly accurate passer, great footwork, stronger arm than people think. It's not a bad choice if you can move Haskins for a 2nd but I'm on the Chase train so I'd rather not

I don’t disagree. Like I said I’m just warming up to the thought of it but not sold on it. I trust RR to make the right decision at QB and I’m hopeful that’s Haskins because then we’ll be able to unleash Chase Young. I just wonder sometimes, in actuality what is Haskins Ceiling. He has some Big Ben qualities to him. Pretty mobile for his size unlike people said during the draft last year.

I agree. First, he is a talented passer..the optics are correct

But like it or not, his frame has proven not to be reliable and IMO its very concerning. He had a "tweaked knee" in 2018 and then had the ankle which required surgery. The ankle injury in real time...was a very normal football play which happens all the time. Not good

The hip thing...pretty serious injury this year.

He's not a big guy, thin frame. Its not like Russell Wilson or Jackson where they are small but more "solid" of a frame.

i just think Tau could do more for us then Chase Young, saying if both became elite QB has more impact then Edge

tau 6' 217lbs
Jackson 6'2" 212lbs
wilson 5' 11" 215

they are pretty the same person frame wise.

With pads on...you think so?

Wilson is compact, thicker frame no doubt.

Look at Lamar Jackson neck...that guy looks stronger and can take a hit.

You better have a great Oline for Tau.

Dude there is like a three pound variance between them.

Now those 3 compared to Big Ben 6'5" 241 lbs that is dealt worth discussing.

Nothing about the draft is cast in concrete. I'm sure that Tua will be thoroughly evaluated as the possible #2 pick by the Redskins, as will Burrow. I could ask you the question "What should we do if the Bengals draft Tua or Young instead of Burrow?" I mean, the options could turn out to be to choose between any two of those three players or to trade the pick. It hurts my brain to think of all the possibilities. That's why RR gets paid the big bucks.

correct.

Look at the nba draft few years back, Fultz was the man he was going to Boston no question he is the man, then Danny trades the pick and the Celtics have Tatum now.

nothing is etch in stone, burrow is not andrew luck coming out.

Draft Chase Young and see what you have with Haskins.

If Haskins is a dud, you can trade Young in 3 or 4 years (think Khalil Mack trade) and draft your next Franchise QB.

Young is the safest pick in this draft.

Yeah but franchise Qb's don't grow on trees, if Tua is available and he can be a top 10 QB for the next 10-12 years you have to take him.. Of course we don't know that, it's all based on projections.
