In all the various mock drafts, is there one player you'd HATE for the Skins to draft at 15?
There are seemingly a bazillion ways the Skins could go with their first pick, given how many holes we have to shore up, and the seeming depth in this draft at some of those positions we have dire needs for.
But I wonder ... is there one player you would absolutely HATE to see the Skins burn their first round pick on? For me ... that player is Daniel Jones. This might be unfair. Because he's probably a nice kid, who has done some nice things. But drafting this kid in the first round means you think he's capable of being your franchise QB. For me .... he's a career back up. I'd much rather the Skins shore up some other areas of weakness. Draft a difference maker at that spot, and grab a QB a couple rounds later. OR ... if they're dead set on Daniel Jones, try and move back in the draft, pick up another pick, and draft Jones a little later. That'd make me feel a little better. A little. I've grown to love the idea of that TE Hockenson kid from Iowa. I doubt he lasts to 15 though. Who do you NOT want the Skins to draft at 15, that has popped up in a mock drafts? |

DK Metcalf

Hate would be too strong, but any QB that isn't Drew Lock.

I know I am probably completely wrong on this, but Daniel Jones sounds to me like another Kirk Cousins with "meh" leadership.
DK Metcalf
Agreed, without his gaudy combine, Metcalf would be a 2nd rounder. |

I'd say Metcalf as well

Charlie Casserly's top QB (other than Murray who he says he keeps off to the side) is Daniel Jones. What do you know about him that Casserly doesn't?

U asking me? If so I think Jones is a solid QB comparable to an Alex Smith. Smart kid that doesn't take many big chances , can move well for his size. Lacks arm strength for deeper routes. He's been coached up by a great College QB coach / system but some are not high on him due to his underwhelming tape. |

I know when I watched Lawrence, Fromm, Haskins, Murray and Tau in games, their arm talent is noticeable. Wil Grier as well.
Ive watched Jones several times and he looks like JAG. |

Sorry, i didn't quote - I was actually asking the guy who created the thread since Jones was his player. Casserly thinks Jones is the most pro-ready QB in this years draft, so he would be the QB most likely to cause an immediate positive impact to the team, so i was surprised he was the OP's choice. Personally, QB is just about the last position I want us to draft at 15, but if we did draft one, Jones would be my choice above Haskins and Lock. |

Maybe this threads title should be changed to Daniel Jones alot of Draft smoke or talented?
The reason I say this because he is blowing up in the national media today and in the last few days. 1) Gil Brandt comparing him to Peyton Manning 2) Mel Kiper talking him up saying he is ready to start in the NFL 3) Dan Orlovsky liking him 4) Coached by David Cutcliffe who coached both Manning brothers. I am not sure I like him at 15 but there is a ton of talk out of NY that the Giants will use their #17 and take him if he is there. Smoke or reality? I will say he played on a Duke team with shitty WR's that posed no deep threats and a terrible offensive line. He was forced to get rid of the ball early. Plus he came back in 3 weeks after breaking his collar bone and started the whole season. The guy is tough. |

I know nothing more than Casserly, and probably a lot less. But as a Louisville Cardinal fan, that closely watched the ACC, I think the game results for Daniel Jones leave a lot to be desired. Against teams with NFL talent ... 2018 ... at Clemson -- 24 of 43, 158 yards, 0 TD's, 0 INTs (Duke loss) at Miami -- 17 of 35, 130 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT (a win for Duke btw) The rest of that schedule ... he's pedestrian at best against "ok" defenses. 2017 .... at Virginia Tech -- 10 of 24, 82 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT (Duke loss) vs Florida State -- 22 of 35, 204 yards, 0 TDs, 0 INTs (FSU kinda sucked that year too) (Duke loss) vs Miami -- 21 of 41, 166 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT (Duke loss) vs Baylor -- 20 of 35, 184 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT (a win for Duke) The rest of that schedule is again, pedestrian. I mean, he's a big kid. Probably a great kid. But is THIS the resume of a first round pick???? He feels like a HUGE reach to me. Underwhelming. We have so many needs, that can be better filled at this spot, than drafting Daniel Jones as our QB. In my opinion. |

Watched one Duke game against Clemson. Now granted Clemson has better athletes across the board. Came away really feeling like Jones could be our guy if he's there at 15. It wasn't so much about the stats, it was the way he ran and handled the pressure of playing against the best team w/ a great d-line. He just looked like an NFL QB.
