Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

1. Pressure on Sea to win as a 9pt fav and a team that traditionally chokes. As far as there fans are concerned, and all the media there is no way they loose. Thats a ton of pressure for an unproven, untested team.

2. Holmgren is the worst coach left in the playoff pool.

3.Our Def can stop the run. Just like NYG once tiki was taken out they fell apart.

4. Hasselbeck is 0-2 as a playoff starter.

5.Our Def is healthy as it has been in weeks.

6. After playing the league's #1 Def going against Sea's D will be like taking the donut off your baseball bat after practice swings.

7. Sea is 1-2 vs Playoff teams this season and the win was the vs NYG in the feely game. Im not counting the Indy game with the starters out.

8. We beat their ass already!

They also play in the worst division in the NFL. I wonder what Gibbs' record is on road playoff games.

All good points. Vegas is off their rocker, 9pts is a shortsighted line only looking at a poor offensive performance vs. TB. Seems like a classic upset waiting to happen to me

thats such a great feeling ...

I say we win cause Holmgren sucks in the playoffs, and he is going against a team and coach that has been in the playoffs the last 6 weeks. In other words we are primed and ready for this game ... we will catch them flat footed.

I believe it's 7-4 (including 3-1 in the Super Bowl). And he's 5-0 against the Seahawks

Gonna be a tough one...offense has to score at least 21 to have a chance in this one.

You gotta think that there is alot of experienced money that is giddy over the 9 points. I'm not a gambler but anyone can look at the scores of Redskins games this year and see that that's a steal.

Im optimistic because Seattle's pass defense rank is 17. That indicates what? A poor pass rush. The only time our offense really coughs is when Brunell is under pressure. Recalling the first game he had alot of time in the pocket. I'm sure they will turn up th heat in terms of blitzes since this is a playoff game but you are what you are. The Seahawks are vulnerable against the pass.

While I agree with most of your statements, this one is a little strong. Four of the remaining coaches have Super Bowl rings, and he is one of them. And his teams are generally over .500, year in and year out.

We need to get Santana returning kicks. He had a TD for the Jets on a return in last year's playoffs.

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

we will win because
1. just like we shut down Julius Jones and Tiki Barber and Cadillac williams in the past month we will shut down Alexander.
2. We have momentum and the tenth best passing defense in the league.
3. We have, what, an 11 to one turn over ratio in the past 6 games.
4. Daniels has had 9 sacks this season and 7 of them in the last four games.
5. The linebacking core is playing excellent
6. salave'a and griffin are monsters in the middle
7. we are -4 in give-away/take-away. and that's after we were, what?, +10 earlier in the season. So in the second half of the season we are -14 , and I think it's higher, like -20.

In short, we are playing some serious football and Seattle won't know what hit them.

What has Homlgren done without Farve in his prime??? NADA except a few first round playoff exits... Would u rather have Homlgren or Lovie Smith calling the shots in the cluch? Id take Smith and let Homlgren and his porn mustach rot in Sea.

But the Seahawks can use that to there advantage as well, they have lost so much that they are hungry for a playoff win, just as much as we are. The post-season record Seattle plays with definately haunts them, but they are a different and much better team this year. That being said, I like our defense in this matchup, and as mentioned above Seattle has not played well against playoff teams. The fact that we beat them this year doesn't really matter because they are a better team and they are playing at home. This time around we are a better team as well, but something needs to give in our offensive game, otherwise it will be a very, very tough game.

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

The key is stopping Alexander...Hopefully Griffin and Chris Samuels have some good tips on him, since they played with him at Alabama. Our D-Line is playing much better and Springs will play this week. Also, we held him under 100 yards. Their WRs will be freaking out because Sean Taylor will be "lurking" somewhere, as Marcus Washington (better than Keith Brooking and Pro Bowl snub) notes.

The team needs to score 21 points. With the way our defense is playing, the offense may not need to score many points at all.:)

I think we will need 28 points to pull this one out. Every phase needs to be in sync.

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

I hope we beat Seattle. My hope is that their team is overconfident like it appears. Gibbs and Williams are NOT to be underestimated even with their backs to the wall since we were 5-6. 11 game winning streak? All 6 of ours meant everything. My hope is that we bring it on all sides of the ball and knock out the #1 seed!

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

The Seahawks are the Kevin Garnett of the NFL. They look great on paper, even have an MVP award, but they can't get it done when it matters. Is that a motivator for them, of course, just like all of the 'This is KG's year' talk two years ago. But in the end it didn't matter...poor Seahawks, it must suck to know what's coming

5RINGS 01-10-2006 02:05 PM

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

Wash should win cause the Seattle Pass rush is mostly theoretical. Looks good on paper, but doesn't come to play.

But Take a picture of Daniels now because you won't see him on Sunday. Walter Jones does not play around.

But count on Hassleback to screw up at the wrong time, and Look for Alexander to be all alone on offense.

Reason the Skins will win? Well, none of us thought they would go 5 straight.. people laughed at the thought. No way was that possible, right?

Never underestimate Joe Gibbs. He will find a way.. it will be hard fought and hard won. KEEP THE FAITH!

5rings welcome back.it seems like the seahawks are the media darlings every year and basically find a way to screw it up.their receivers dont scare anyone and last game i think we knocked 2 of them out so they are probably already looking over their shoulders for #21,who is lurking in the shadows

Re: Reasons To Think Skins Will Win

Dallas helmet:

Just because DeMarcus Ware got shut out doesn't mean Philip Daniels will! All of Seattle's statistical offensive strength was collected against dysfunctional clubs. They are not even paper champions they are merely paper contenders. To suggest that Seattle is even slightly better than the other remaining NFC clubs is ludicrous. The Seahawks would NEVER have been able to do what the Panthers did in New York. Even if they manage a victory over Washington they will never be able to repeat the fluke the next week. There are no 49ers, Cardinals or Rams in these playoffs.

Plus restign for 3 weeks has its downsides, just 3 weeks to get fat. Joe gibbs will be ready. Alexander will be put on his ass. And Hassleback will lose even more hair(if its possible)
