Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to persure
KR might not run trick plays as well, but thats a terribly small percentage of total production and randal-el's numbers just aren't very good.
Curtis is an RFA and would cost a 3rd rounder, but he'd be worth it.
His numbers aren't bad though. Remember we're looking for a #2 or #3 not a #1 so a guy who can catch 50-65 balls would be a great weapon. While trick plays are definitely only a small percentage of the plays they are often good for 5 or 6 TDs a year if you have the players to do them. In that case defenses have to spend time preparing for them and have one more thing to worry about during games. It can open up the defenses a little more. That's what we need. Get those LBs off the line and move those safeties back a little to get room for Moss. Just a little here and there will be big I think. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
I would love to have Randle El, I think he would be great addition & help our passing game greatly. I've heard the Bears are also very interested in him, hopefully we get him.

If the SKins want someone...they get him. It is as simple as that. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
As far as Randle El goes, don't forget -- Bill Cowher and the Steeler organization has never bent over backwards to make sure they retain key players -- Kendrell Bell, Plaxico. They have always been able to find adequate replacements.
This is very true plus the Steelers have Cedrick Wilson who could step into the #2 spot if needed. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
Height doesn't mean shit. If you didn't already know, Santana Moss has a 42 in vertical. The man has some serious hops.

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
join the club
antwan randle-el would be absolutely perfect, he can return punts and has great hands, i can see him makin a huge addition to the 2006-2007 super bowl champion washington redskins!!!!! |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
by the way
FRPLG...lets dish the T.O. idea. Gibbs has no room for that ego on his roster. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
I think the most important asset for the #2 wide receiver is the most basic:
Good Hands I think that was Taylor Jacobs' downfall. He couldn't hold on to the football. I KNOW that was Rod Gardner's problem. Size and speed are great but what if they just can't catch it and hold it when they get speared by the SS. IMO, good hands are what set Moss and Cooley apart this year. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
dont u wish we had rod gardner bak about now?
i kno i do o yea and lets dish the T.O. idea b/c gibbs has no room for that ego on his roster. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
by the way 70 chip...rod gardner is about to win a super bowl with the panthers so its hard to rag on him now.

He was cut by the Panthers about a month ago (now with the Packers) and the Panthers aren't even in the Super Bowl....so not too hard to rag on him. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
i know this is like totally dumb but like in madden 06' i love the big "possesion like receviers, theyre easier to hit, maybe we should take a bigger receiver into consideration, not b.c of madden because they can move the chains, make a critical 3rd down catch jst by jumping over a smaller cornerback......

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
hahah, rod gardner was an ass....btw wat does IMO mean??

Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
Randle El would be great, or so would Reggie Wayne, who happened to be Santana's roomate at The U. So those guys would be great, as for a "possion" receiver T.O. would look good in a skins jersey, if he had a really complicated one year deal, I'd take a chance for a ring. That man can play football, but I'd still rather have Randle El or Wayne.
I met Joe Gibbs at Myrtle Beach, SC. And LaVar at a Wizards game. LaVar must stay, and play on 3rd downs. |
Re: Randle El is the receiver we need to pursue
why do people get hung up on size.i agree with saden, create space and catch the ball.i would love randle el.and hell no to T.O.we need a receiver that can catch ,to me size doesnt matter.pac man jones was a first rounder last year and he is about 5'9" so not all the corners are getting bigger
