LOI Day!
Post your favorite school's happenings here...
I'm stoked about our class... but not happy regarding Vidal Hazelton's step father... the kid obviously wants to go here (he sent his LOI w/o guardian signature to Petey today). I'm sorry, but parents has to let their kid make a decision like this on his own and stop living vicariously through them (he won't be happy if he's forced to go to PSU). |
Re: LOI Day!
PSU is taking every good player from maryland.

If i don't get into maryland i might just go to penn state so i am torn. I am also applying to Texas, Michigan, and Wisconsin so it seems all my schools are pretty good at football but Maryland. I guess i'll watch basketball :( -they are falling in that too as they will be a young team next year

Re: LOI Day!
I can't be happier with Georgia's class. All I have to say is Matthew Stafford the number one rated qb in the nation. This kid is gonna be a sure fire stud.

Re: LOI Day!
Maryland's class isn't too bad. You can see it by clicking here.
Melvin Alaeze will be great on the D line. 4 6 foot 3 receivers, and some more linebackers. The Terps are losing out to Penn State because their regional coordinator for this area (Larry Johnson) is a former high school football coach from the area (19 years at McDonough, 2 years at TC Williams), and knows the coaches he's dealing with. The guy Maryland has is new to recruiting and doesn't have the connections that Johnson has. And from looking at his bio, I can see that MD's former head coach before Fridge (Ron Vanderlinden) is the LB coach, and recruited very well here in Maryland. So there you go...2 ups, and a very successful 2005 campaign brings PSU back to the forefront. |
Re: LOI Day!
if penn state lost more games or MD won more, it'd be flipped. You can't crap out and expect A+++ players to flock to you when a real contender wants them too.

Re: LOI Day!
I think ESPN had one of the QB's as the #9 QB recruit in the country going to UMD, that's not bad.

Re: LOI Day!
Number 6 class in the country.

Yeah, Jeremy Ricker...rivals.com ranked him top 5 dual threat QB in the nation. Which will be a great fit in Fridge's system, since Statham nor Hollenbach can really run the option well. It'll open things up like Shaun Hill and Scott McBrien were able to. Although Hollenbach is capable of carrying this team, and the return of Josh Allen will help solidify the backfield. Losing Vernon Davis is huge, but the receivers are capable. Maryland fans got spoiled by Fridge's first 3 years...but the football tradition at MD is solid. I think this year will be a crucial year on the building of the program, but they do need to revamp the recruiting department, making sure that the guys that commit early (Logan-El) stay committed. |
