one bit of good news today at least. Looks like we will have our starting o-line here in place for a couple more years. |
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
Well, at least we've got Dock on board.
|
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
that means that the cap relief the skins got for lavar'r release will not be going to the o line..
d end? wideout ? several players ??? stay tuned |
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
That just means we can match a offer if another team signs him. Redskins could get a pick in the up coming draft if they don't match the offer.

Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
playing together is part of the equation of good offensive line play.this is definitly good news for the skins

Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
All the talk about salary purges was significant to me only if it effected the O-Line. On D, Williams has shown he can have a top-notch defense with Walt Harris and Warrick Holdman playing significant roles. On O, the starting RB, WR and QB are returning b/c they simply can't be cut to save money (not exactly the triplets, but still one more year together). It appears that the O-Line will stay intact for a 2nd year in a row - that, to me, is critical b/c that is where every offense starts. With Dock locked up, Jansen Thomas and Samuels restructing - we should be in good shape. Sure we need depth, but after Thursday so will a lot of teams.

I don't think anyone's going to give up a 3rd rounder for Derrick Dockery (that's what it would take to get him from us, assuming we signed him to the lowest level tender). I doubt he'll get any other offers. |
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
doc is a lower (below average) starter, so no one is going to spend a pick getting him.

he really isn't. not at the LG position. 20/32 is below average and believe or not every team has starters that are below average. not every player we have is automatically above average just cause they wear a skins uniform. |

I read, heard and saw coaches say that he did a very nice job in 05. Yes is he Randy Thomas no. But he isn't below average! Now below average is the Skins #2 WR spot!!!! |

who's he better than? Faneca Hutchinson Waters Wahle Allen Steinbech Kendall Fonoti Andruzzi Hamilton Manuwai Mulitalo DeMulling Piller Brown Jacox Stincomb we're already at below average and there's more left to go. plus 3-4 rookies could be better than him by next year. He runs a 5.6 40 and that's terribly slow even for an OL guy. we'll be able to pick up an even heavier guy than runs 5.3 in the 2nd round if we want. |
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
What I hate about the whole situation is that I'd LOVE a better guard, but it's the whole continuity thing. Would someone else be able to step in and do a better job immediately? My gut tells me so, but I'd hate to wreck this whole "team" thing we've got going on.

As for all these guys you listed what makes them better and what is the way that you can tell me that they are better? It's like saying S.Moss isn't better then joe Blow. With WR here you can use 40 times and stats to show he is better. With line men coaches grade thier games and they know who isn't getting the job done. Gibbs in a season ending interview said Doc came along way and was as I remember very high on his 05 play! If not true why would he say that??? |
Re: Dockery signs qualifying offer
I was never worried aabout Dockery, just shaky on the
depth along the OL. |
