The NFL free agency signing period for 2006 is now scheduled to begin on Saturday, March 11, at 12:01 a.m. The deadline for teams to be under the 2006 salary cap of $102 million is 6 p.m. ET on Friday.

The NFL and players union agreed to push back the start of free agency an extra 24 hours after owners agreed to an extension of the Collective Bargaining Agreement on Wednesday night.

This was reported to happen on NFL network and ESPN Mike and Mike today and last night. It gives time for teams to reset thier contracts and move cap around before the dead line!
