$92,894 total payroll for 2008. And that's only 21 rostered players.

some will be cut, others extended, and will still lead in deadcap ;)

15% of our space this year is going to players that aren't even on the team. That's a big disadvantage, but all teams have some deadcap and we offset ours by pushing the debt forward.

As long as danny can keep pushing it back until a new TV or labor contract comes up, the skins will be fine. If he falls a year short, it'll be BAD.

GOT a question about DEAD CAP....The 15Mil we have in dead cap this year will that open up that much room in cap space next year????

sort of. It and the contracts it represents will be gone, leaving us with only current players to pay (unless/until we prematurely cut more guys with years left on their contracts).

Since we haven't designated anyone a posts june 1 cuts (which, confusingly can be done march 1st or earlier now), I don't believe we have any deadcap on the 2007 cap of 109$mill yet.

Right now we already have 106$mill of player salaries on the 2007 cap though, with dockery and lloyd needing new deals still (which probably adds 3-4mill more onto next year). New roster fill and some smaller contracts will also be due (unless someone like chris clemons steps up and needs a big contract like AP got). A few cuts and some restructures and it'll be easy to get under at least one more year, but next year's FA binge already happened this year, so don't expect a huge signing spree ;)

That Guy's right on the money (as usual). We've got 2 years to get the Lombardi trophy with the players we have now. That's not to say that we won't be competitive in 2008. Just that there will be a BIG roster turnover. Half the guys who make the team this year might not be there in 2008.

are the internet revenues included in the cap yet? They weren't in the old cba and i don't know how much is included in the new one...

oh yeah, canuck, it says pucillo signed a 4 year contract in a bunch of places, but a lot of other sites (like KFFL) show only a one year deal. I'm not really sure which is right though.

gtripp im not sure if i agree.it seems like all the so called authorities always say the skins are closing in on cap hell year after year.our cap guy is either playing by a different set of rules or is just very good at his job.as long as the skins can circumvent(not sure about using this word talking about cap strategies)their problems for a rainy day,i see a sunny future for the skins

The NFLPA says it's a one year deal.

If the dead cap total is off the books after this season and the cap goes up to $109 mill next season wouldn't we just then be able to shift some money from players we know we want to keep. Meaning if they have a big cap number, for 2008 and beyond, we could renegotiate some of those contracts like we were going to do if there wasn't a CBA this year. Of course this would only work if we didn't want to add a bunch more FA next year, which I don't think we will really need to do, but this way it would help take the load of for some of the heavier contracts down the road.

I'm sorry, do you have anything intelligent to add?
