Top Defensive Backs in NFL - Ohalete?
I just purchased the Fantasy League 2004 Source Book and they have Ifeanyi Ohalete ranked #3 in the NFL! Does anyone understand this logic? There is no reason listed for the rankings.
|
its got to be a mistake, or you are reading it wrong
|
Who is ranked #1 and #2?
Ade Jimoh and Todd Franz? |
I wish I could scan it for you guys:
DB #1 - Brian Russell #2 - Rodney Harrison I know I'm reading it right because the linebackers and defensive lineman are listed next to the DBs and: LB Ray Lewis #1 Jamie Sharper #2 DL Michael Strahan #1 Adewale Ogunleye #2 |
Thats weird... of all the other DBs in the league. Definitly something weird about that.
|
When I first read the thread I thought it was going to say hes the third best safety left in free agency. which would make more sense
|
Some other questionable Redskin ratings are:
Matt Bowen #5 - DB LaVar Arrignton #37 - LB I used this magazine last year as a fantasy reference... I am questioning whether or not I wasted my $10!! |
Ohalete turned the ball over enough times (and he had what the 3rd most tackles on the team - behing Trotter and Arrington). So, for fantasy purposes, Ohalete is a good DB.
I still think he's better than Bowen. |
really great defensive backs are never any good in fantasy- they don't get thrown too often enough (bailey, etc)

Ohalate is better than Bowen and Ohalate had excellent stats last year. I think he played fairly well considering it was his 2nd year as an Undrafted Free Agent. I think in packages with tons of DB's he should be the first in, assuming Bowen get's the starting job. Bowen will lay the hit down, but Ohalate will have more solid play.

Yeah, the Redskins should use Ohelate as a linebacker kind of in certain situations like the Rams use Archuleta as a linebacker/safety.
|
I dont see why you would use Ohalete as a linebacker so you can have players in that can hit hard. Do you guys really think Iffy can hit harder than Barrow, Washington or Lavar? I highly doubt that he can. Mabye play him as a linebacker in a pass coverage situation, but what you do then is run quarter defense, have three linebackers, three linemen, and a third safety.

I don't know about hit hard, but can he wrap up better than LaVar? yes.

Isn't the quarter defense 3 Dlinemen, 2 LBs, 4 CBs and 2 safeties? |
