Rattay tears groin

looks like skinsncanes has another former hurricane out there to pull for now that ken dorsey is their starting qb. i wonder how the 49ers feel about letting garcia go now. |

Garcia was far from the future of San Fran. Their biggest mistake was getting rid of Mariuchhi. Time for them to start over! I'm glad, I hate the 49er's, but gotta feel sorry for their fans.

I think i know who might be picking first in the draft next year. 49ers
|
I can't believe they have more dead cap money then the Skins. I thought we were the kings of dead cap space. I dont know too much about these things but doesn't that type of injury mean that even if he comes back this season he still won't be 100%. They could ask for cap relief, if he wont play at all, right? Then couldn't they then go for Warner or Collins.

i would agree that this is a type of injury that is gonna tke longer than this season to heal completely from. i think they may make a push for either of those guys, especially warner cuz he might like the idea of playing against the rams 2 times a year even if it was with the 49ers. |
Ken Dorsey may just be the next Tom Brady. Still cant believe the Skins selected Gilbran Hamden over him in the draft.
|
Yea I agree, Dorsey would have been a much better pick. Dorsey will succeed because all he knows how to do is win. People say his arm isnt strong enough, well its not as strong as most QBs, but if you know that and make the smart throws it doesnt matter. GO CANES

Maybe the Niners will pick up Collins or Warner. Either one would be a good fit, since they are killing off the West Coast offence in SF.

There are a litany of guys who won at the college level that couldn't play in the NFL. Hamdan may have been a foolish pick (since he likely would have been available as a free agent after the draft), but Dorsey's relatively weak arm puts him on the same page as the dozens of QB's with winning records whose physical skills don't match up to the pro game. As the success of other players from storied programs (like Miami, in this case) shows us, the QB gets too much credit for victories. Remember the players Dorsey had around him - Portis, Shockey, et al. With players like that, I could succeed on the 1-A level. |
Yeah, I bet Dorsey flounders in the NFL. He didn't win games, but he didn't lose them either.
|
If I'm the 49ers I'd be all over Kerry Collins.
I think the 49ers are being overly optimistic in thinking Rattay will be ready to roll come week 1. |
Dorsey does know how to win, but so did Wuerffel. You still have to have the physical skills to go along with the mental portion of the game.

Dorsey did win games for the Canes. He was the leader on offense. Brock Berlin lost games for the Canes. Im not saying hes going to be a great NFL QB, but he was the leader on the Miami offense and lead them to victory. Losing him had more of an impact that anyone of the players that were drafted in the first round. |

Isn't that what Spurrier said about Wuerffel?? |
