NFL news (4/25) - Ricky Williams, Javon Walker being shopped, Casserly to Resign
Dolphins | Williams' decision could come Tuesday; he also could be traded
Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:36:28 -0700 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ricky Williams could find out his football fate for the 2006 season as early as Tuesday, April 25. Should the league reinstate Williams, then the Dolphins could begin fielding offers for their running back and try to trade him before the NFL Draft. There would be interest in Williams and the Denver Broncos could head up that list. The Broncos already were involved in talks with the Dolphins this winter, when word of Williams' potential suspension leaked out. Packers | Team fielding calls and offers for J. Walker Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:31:16 -0700 Adam Schefter, of the NFL Network, reports the Green Bay Packers have begun fielding telephone calls, and offers, in terms of trying to decide whether it is worth it to trade disgruntled WR Javon Walker. The Packers made it clear they only will trade Walker for the right price, a high price. Teams at the top of the list include the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles, but there are at least three other confirmed teams that weighed in Monday, April 24. There is no shortage of suitors for Walker, meaning that it is looking more and more as if Green Bay will trade Walker. Texans | Casserly reportedly to resign; NFL position not a lock Mon, 24 Apr 2006 17:13:35 -0700 According to FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki, Charley Casserly reportedly will resign as general manager of the Houston Texans, after the NFL Draft. However, an influential league source said Monday, April 24, there is no guarantee that Casserly will be offered the job as the NFL's director of football operations. |

I didn't appreciate Casserly until he left and we signed Trung Canidate as our lead back. |

might have been a coaching problem. it's someone's fault the OL has been terrible there all these years. |

he was fast and looked good in limited minutes running for the rams (who have a decent OL) while all the defenses were too concerned about tisaac brolt to care about him.... I think ;) speed backs work best in deep passing offenses, and that's what SS wanted to run. |

Didn't Casserly engineer the Earnest Byner and Gerald Riggs trades? Or was that Beathard's last hoorah?

I thought Casserly was a HORRIBLE GM. Beathard built the team, and it started going downhill during the Casserly era. He is a complete loser when it comes to talent evaluation. |

westbrook was Norv's favorite in that draft, don't know who had more pull, him or Casserly. We traded for Sean Gilbert from the rams, then we eventually got 2 1st rnd. picks for him when carolina signed him. Desmond Howard was Gibbs' & Casserly's doing. Gibbs said he found "no holes" after they'd researched him. Casserly later said that all of the nfl had Howard rated that high too. |
Re: NFL news (4/25) - Ricky Williams, Javon Walker being shopped, Casserly to Resign
From what I recall Norv wanted Dilfer and Westbrook, Casserly wanted Galloway and Shuler (or vice versa)
So they compromised |
