Who do I miss? or who do I think the team misses?
I miss Davis, good, solid back who was a good guy and really wanted to be a Redskin for life. Who the team misses most? IMO - Gardner, Bailey. Yes, I know Gardner has reverted to "head case" form, but he was a beast for us at a position of need. Bailey simply b/c (while somewhat overrated IMO) he was a shut down corner who could be counted on to take on the other team's top receiver and pretty much take them out of the game. |
Larry Centers
|
Im going to have to agree with Centers. We cant miss Bailey to much yet because we hvaent seen how our D performs without him. Im really looked forward to Cooley, i think having a receiving and blocking hback will add great dimension to our team.
|
Im going to have to say, my man, Brian Mitchell. He never wanted to leave, but was forced out. He was a superb special team player and did what was needed when he got to play running back. When he left are punt and kick returns went south.

i always liked marco coleman and i think westbrook would have been a pretty good wr if he hadn't been hurt so much.

Yeah, #82 was good when he wasn't hurt or beating up his own team mates. '9

I probably miss Davis more than anyone else.
More than anyone else on that list, we should we have never let go of QB Brad Johnson. Between Jeff George, Tony Banks, Danny Woeful, and Shane Matthews, I think letting him go constituted the biggest mistake. I really think we would have been playoff contenders every year since 1999. Who do I think we will miss most this season? Daryl Gardener (of 2002 AND NOT Daryl Gardener of IHOP or 2003). I don't think that Cornelius Griffin and Philip Daniels cure our Dline woes and the dline was out biggest weakness. What gives? I didn't buy that LB compensating for the DLine stuff last year and I don't believe it this year. As Steve Spurrier said, whoever dominates the line of scrimmage controls the game. As wrong as he was on a number of issues, he couldn't be more right about controlling the line of scrimmage-game. Gibbs' offense was so successful in large part because we had the Hogs. It looks like he's concentrated on the O-line to build on the Hog tradition. However, we need some D-line Hogs and Gibbs seems to be totally neglecting that. |

You took the words right out of my mouth! |
Centers

Right now i go with Centers and Gardener. It would be so nice to have a DT like Gardener right now. Can't really say Bailey rihght now because we have so much depth at CB without him and Portis.
|
Larry Centers and Davis (now that we have Portis, I don't quite miss him as much). Centers was a class act!
|
I miss Spurrier. I wish he could have taken an Offensive coordinator type job. Learned a lot from Gibbs, then given it another go.
|
I think I might have to go with a couple of guys not on that list, Kenard Lang and N.D. Kalu
But from the list presented, I think everyone is right on about 2002 Gardener |
