Why not Ty Law
If he is not signed, wouldn't he be worth a flyer? He certainly would be a serious upgrade over whomever we have as our 3rd CB. Furthermore, our starting CBs have missed game time over the last two years, he could prove to be an able starter for a few games. I can't imagine going into the season with Ade as our 1st CB off the bench. If we are serious about a superbowl run, we will need at least 3 solid CBs.
Does anyone have concerns about our CB position? |
Re: Why not Ty Law
$$
Also, he is old and that is the same problem with springs as we will need another CB soon. I think we should go young. However, if by some way we get ty i would be very happy for this year knowing that the DBs we have are beastly. |
Re: Why not Ty Law
If we have the room enough to sign any rookies we're keeping and a little emergency funds, I'd sign him to a 1 or 2 year contract. I'm sure he'd provide a reliable option at a position that haunted us with some injuries last year and proved we needed some more depth....
I don't think we've addressed the issue yet. Archuletta is an awesome safety, and I'm glad he's here, but I would've been happier to see us keep Ryan Clark and sign a better corner. Rogers and Springs are great, but after that there's a huge void... |
Re: Why not Ty Law
First of all he does want a lot of $, that is why he is still on the market. Plus, remember we did sign kenny wright from the jags, and I think the team likes Christian Morton because he has been on and off our roster. I think we will be ok at cb.

Re: Why not Ty Law
he wants something like 7-8mill a year. we have $3mill free, do the math.
plus, where would he play? he wouldn't come here to be a #3, and benching rogers for him is just retarding his development for a band aid short term solution that we don't even need. |
Re: Why not Ty Law
As training camp approaches and teams start to spend the rest of their cap money, Law might have take what ever he can.
He will wake up and smell the coffee soon. He is not a spring chicken anymore. He will eventaully sign in the $2-3m range for next year. |
Re: Why not Ty Law
i'd bet money he gets more than 3$mill.
|
Re: Why not Ty Law
I guarantee he wont play unless he gets the money he wants. And he shouldnt look at the numbers he put up last year 10 int's still sounds like an elite corner to me with a few good years left.

That aggressiveness came at a cost. I believe he also led the league in penalties on defensive backs--pass interference, illegal contact, holding. They don't call the illegal contact rule "The Ty Law Rule" for nothing. :) |

yes, postons & $$ the danny is done w/the postons it sounds like. I would hate to see one of our core players suddenly change agents & go w/the postons in a contract year! |
Re: Why not Ty Law
hey, i think that ty law would be a great addition to the defense because our cbs our great but it wouldnt hurt if we could add him to the mix of course if we could bring back darrel green it would even be greater but no chance of that just wishful thinking on my part i think he was the greatest cb in the business
|
Re: Why not Ty Law
i think Ahmed Plummer would be a better fit for us, his situation reminds me springs when we got him from seatle
