I work in Baltimore and my coworkers started cheering when they heard about this. That pretty much sums up the attitude of dirtball Ravens fans.

After KWII had his "accident", Roethlisberger told reporters that he rode, and would not wear a helmet. This is no one's fault but his own.

And that is why I do not feel bad or sorry for him... He knew that everytime he went out on his bike that this could happen...

This is why you shouldn't ride motorcycles, ATVs, or anything of the kind while you're a professional athlete!!!

Thankfully the injuries don't seem to be life-threatening

As a fellow rider, I can tell you I have never gotten on a bike without a helmet, and I can't understand the mentality of those who do.

For heaven sakes, the kid wouldn't step into the huddle without a helmet would he? NFL linebackers are fast, but that is still nothing compared to the asphalt at 55 or 60 MPH!

I hope he's alright, but if I were Cowher or the rest of his teammates, I would set him straight ASAP. Very selfish move on his part.

Look, I hate helmet laws (I think they interfere with natural selection). But I will put this in the same category as somebody who does stupid things to get themselves suspended from the league.

Why? Playing in the NFL is not a right. It is not something anyone other than very, very few get to do. What BRoth has done by getting on a motorcycle (with or without helmet) is to not take care of a special opportunity.

NFL QBs only have so many shots to the head they can take before they are done. Why lower that number by getting on a bike and not wearing a helmet.

most teams put clauses in the contracts of their players for situations just like this, i wonder how big bens contact is worked. and if there is a clause concerning this type of thing will pitt. be willing to pursue it considering he is the star qb.
