Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Mooby says vote or he'll send Daseal over to kick your dog!

and then your dog will need operation

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I say Holdman because he was AWFUL last year, and has nowhere to go but up. If we hadn't gotten Lloyd and Randle El, I would have gone with Patten. While I do think that Patten will produce, we won't have any type of accurate count of just how much with the ball going to so many people.

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I'm hoping for Holdman cuz I'm more worried about that position than the wr position and I've grown to not trust in any kicker. The only other person that came to mind is maybe in a sense shawn springs because last year in no way compared to what he did the season before when he was a bit healthier.

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
holdman was once a pro bowl type line backer and if you cant succede in greg williams defense, you really suck. good afternoon tmc

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
The Rock. Cartwright is going to get 50 carries this year, and we'll all be happy he's on the roster.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
If DP says he's gonna have a great year, DP is gonna have a great year
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
it wont technically be a comeback, but more like an emergance, but I vote for McCune. It may be more wishful thinking than anything, but he's 27 now, and Id hate for him to never have a starting career here... It would be nice to mold all of that raw natural talent into a premiere starting linebacker.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I picked Patten, but it could be Taylor Jacobs. I really think one of these two WRs will end up doing really well.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I think Patten could have a huge impact, especially with all the guys we added to take people off of him. In 4 WR sets, he could often times be lined up against a linebacker and a wide reciver should win that battle 9 times out of 10.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Joke's on him. I dont have a dog! But I vote for Randy Thomas, because he missed the NFL's second season and now hes coming back.
Oh. and I like Randy Thomas. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I'm hoping that Hall can regain his old form and stay healthy for a full 16 games.

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
It's got to be Patten, 'cause everyone will be looking for Moss/Lloyd/ARE. I'd vote for Holdman, but I just don't see him holding up for the whole season, and GW will be running packages with "Rocky" playing weakside LB. (We have got to find out if the Rookie is our next LaVar).

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
welcome to the board silverfox??...haha only two posts the last two years, and the latter being today, i guess deserves a welcome
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
all of them in their own ways. Patten is going to be a great 3rd and is going to be important. Its not like he is going to have 800 yards but he is still going to have an impact. Holdman is going to be a quality starter which is a big improvement, and hall is going to healthy and will boot those 50+ again.
But to pick one. This is tough. I see hall getting back to great form so Hall. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Lets hope that Rocky is NOT the next Lavar ,,, we need a Lb who will crash the backfield and make tackles on 3rd and short . I hope Hall wins this honor because I think we have the Wr's and Lb's ,,, we could use a strong kicking game .

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I went with Hall. I really think he has a solid year left in him. Gibbs has said he would like somebody else to kickoff. This should limit strain on an already injury prone kicker.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I say Carlos Rogers needs to step up, and I expect him to.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I'll echo what TMC said. Holdman, because he was SOOO bad last year he's got the most room for improvement.
I think Patten will have a better year, but I just don't see him being better than a number 3 or 4 for us........whereas Holdman should be a starter at the beginning of the year. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Holdman is my pick. Not that it means anything, but Holdman has been playing GREAT on my Madden franchise. :D
Hall NEEDS a comaback year though...we need a kicker who can actually kick. He probably needs the comeback year more than any of the list of choices, but I'm not sure that will happen. BSB - do you mean Patten will be a good 4th receiver? He's #4 on the list unless he has an amazing and unexpected preseason. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
holdman, if all goes well, will NOT be a starter, neither will patten (who really wasn't that bad last year pre-injury).
it's gotta be hall. he's still an actual starter, he's been terrible, and now (we think) he's had the surgery to fix his problems for good. being able to make 40+ yard FGs again would be huge. patten and holdman should both be better (patten will get #3 and 4 CBs and holdman couldn't be worse), but both will be bit players instead of starters. A permanent demotion kinda hurts your comeback chances in my book. |

A permanent demotion kinda hurts your comeback chances in my book.[/quote] I'd disagree. If Patten becomes a starter, I think all will be going extremely well. Everybody, EVERYBODY is forgetting what he did in New England. I can see him come ROARING back this year. I mean what in Brandon Lloyd's history, or Antwaan Randle-El's history, makes any of us think that they are by far and away better than David Patten? Because they're young and up-and-coming? I think a healthy Patten is just as good as ARE, except ARE can return punts and throw the ball. But strictly as a receiver, I can see Patten having a big year, and I won't be the least bit surprised if he earns the #2 job. Of course, I won't be the least bit surprised if he earns the #4 either. We have one excellent WR and 3 above average WRs in my opinion. I can't differentiate between Patten and the others at this point, they're all equals in my book. I'm not going to let one injury-plagued season in a brand new offense be the basis for my opinion on David Patten. I'm giving him a chance this year. As for Holdman, I just don't think he's going to keep Rocky out of the lineup. "I've seen him do some things this week that no linebacker has done since I've been here." - Gregg Williams on Rocky, the week before minicamp. Holdman coming back strong is great and all, but in the end, Rocky is going to learn the system and once he does, his athleticism will take over. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
As stated earlier: aside from Hall, who I have never had much confidence in, the others are not starters. They could fill in great in their limited roles and their stats would not be much. Andre Carter however is a delegated starting DE. Not that he has been horrible the last couple years, but if Carter can return to 2002 form... well I think that would be the best comeback player we can hope for.

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Yeah, Arch is another one who needs to make a comeback in his own right. Lock up my vote for him. He's gonna be huge this year.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
I picked Frost. I don't know if he'll even be on the team, or if we'll ever need to punt with the WRs we, but I think he has to be better than last year.

He IS going to be huge this year, but I don't think he'd qualify as a comeback player. In his 13 games he played last year, he had 70 tackles, 3.5 sacks as a safety and an interception return for an 85-yard TD. Pretty good if you ask me. Of course, I bet he's shooting for a full schedule this year. |
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Taylor Jacobs.
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Jacobs would be more of a "finally show up" player than a comeback player. What has he done to come back to? :D
|
Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
hoping it's Hall. The skins are going to play a lot of close divisional games this year in which the kicking game is always key.

Re: Mooby Presents the "Redskins Comeback Player" Poll
Bozzy says Holdman.
