so this years Madden Ratings are out:
http://sports.ign.com/articles/724/724760p4.html apparently they feel big things are in store for Cooley this year. and Santana seemed to get demoted... |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..

Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
Cooley is at FB again?
Ugh |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..

Ugh
Madden games are always goofy like that. In '05 the Skins had a shotgun formation even though Gibbs didn't have one in his playbook that year. Then last year, after Gibbs put one in, the game removed it. |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
yeah FB again can you believe it? These are official too. they'll have to change it with the first update. since there's no H-Back anymore, Cooley is squarely a TE.
This year's ratings are really different. first of all, check out all the new stats. they give Straight Arm stats for chrissakes. more importantly, they don't seem to be based on last year as much as they're PREDICTIONS of what will happen THIS year. pretty interesting change of formula all around. |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
Yeah I believe they have changed the rating system this year. It was mentioned earlier that players wont be ascending to the 99 rating as easy this go round.
Its BS that they make Cooley a FB, it takes away the respect due to Sellers who is gonna be widely ignored by media but will be great this year b/c I believe he had an involved offseason with the team. |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
Moss and Steve Smith have had similar career stats and they are very similar receivers...Smith only got 80 more yards than moss last year but they made his overall a 97 and moss is only a 92...whats the deal with that

Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
why does everyone put so much into these ratings? it is a game, right?
|
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
They are really complimenting our draft from the other year if they think our first two picks are the best players on that team.
|
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
Wow. With attributes like these, I'm tempted to leave this one on the shelf.

Plus the ratings will change as the season goes on anyway |

Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
Yep fellas I officially retired my Madden 06 last night with two back to back wins. I went on like a 6 month losing streak. Once I lost the early year Patrick Ramsey I NEVER recovered. I relied too much on what I could do with him at QB. Brunel just never really worked out for me. I found my answer in JASON CAMPBELL !!!!!! That kid is the truth !
Cooley's rating will change once you switch him to TE anyway.... That Moss/Smith thing is a little wierd. |
Re: EA says Cooley is best player on the team..
cooley is a 95, some early ratings had him at 98. if you move him to TE he becomes a 90 (still good).
smith was #1 in yards and had 12 TDs. he was clearly above the field last year and i'm really not worried about the difference. I'm more upset at Joe salave'a getting shafted (71 OVR vs the 80ish it should be). carter and daniels also have their positions wrong in 07 (carter should be the RE), but that's fairly minor. 07 has a much better opening roster than 06 in terms of accuracy, but it's already out of date. antaun edwards (FA SS -> WAS FS #39), posey (bills LOLB -> WAS ROLB #58), rumph (SF CB -> WAS #30), julian battle (KC CB -> WAS #37), jacobs (WAS WR -> SF), chris clemons (WAS ROLB -> FA). nic clemons (RE) and curry burns (FS) can also be tossed. also, ty law (CB 10SB?/30total, 5 years KC), dan wilkinson (DT 3year .5SB/6.31total), junior seau (1 year vet min?), etc didn't make it in time. |
