Mortensen on ESPN radio
Hey guys just a heads up. Mort will be on the Dan Patrick show today talking about CP's injury. Once I hear it I'll try to recap what he said.:thumb:

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
Thanks and welcome to the board.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
my guess is that he will play week one against minnesota
|
Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
he will play week one I am sure. I just hope they dont try to push back and play again in preseason.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
In a nutshell...
The ligaments around the shoulder have stretched and they have to get them to tighten up to keep the shoulder stable. Should ready in three weeks. Mort said Skins were 'nervous' about the injury. |

I doubt he will even dress for the remaining preseason games. |
Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
They'll just rehab the hell out of him the next 3 weeks and rest him. I don't think his status for week 1 will be in doubt.
While we're at it I wouldn't let Betts see much meaningless action either. |
Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
I've had that injury before. It gets a little sore and swollen up, the main problem is the joint is prone to separation again over the next few days and weeks. He'll be totally ready to go by opening day.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
lets hope not. I listened to Mike Golic this morning describe the injury ( he did the same thing) and he played through it and had surgery in the offseason. he said bing a running back (as opposed to D-Line) it should not affect him as much as it did him so he should be fine.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
I won't say it's a blessing in disguise, because it's not, but let's look at the silver lining. At least he won't (SHOULDN'T) be playing in any more preseason games this year where he could have gotten hurt worse.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
All this Portis talk is overshadowing the fact that Chris Clemons sprained his knee. I don't know how serious the injury is, and I realize he's no CP. However, he's a pretty key contributor on passing downs and I'd hate to see him go down

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
They say clemons sprain was a third degree sprain which is the worst. he is out for several weeks from what I read. I will try to locate the link.

Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
I hope he gets a series in the last preseason game. Get him back in the flow of things.
|
Re: Mortensen on ESPN radio
This is not an injury to be rushed back in. If it does not heal it will require surgery and then he is done for the year. If he comes back for that last preseason game he better be way past 100%
