Cartwright Continues to Lead

Nice stat to be leading in, not too mention he set up good field position most of the day on KOT.

Rock has been solid, no pun intended.

OK, possibly a little pun intended.

he's good, but if you remove the outliers (100yd return), then he drops to the middle of the pack (23.7 avg -- which is still pretty good)

He's a consumate team player and plays his heart out, or as Gibbs would say "fights his guts out." Good for Rock.

However, he does have a fumbling problem.

Only when you give him a chance to run the ball.

He has had alot of yards taken away from penalties. Last week he had a 40 some yard return called back. Maybe he is finding his nitch in the NFL.

yeah, I meant middle of the pack for the list provided in the link (NFC returners) ... didn't look at the entire league. 23.7 yd avg is good though, no matter which way you look at it. I do think he's finding his niche ... who'da thunk it would've been rock, and not ARE, that would be the biggest contributor on ST so far.

No can do. You gotta take out everyone's outliers in that case. Way too much work for me to confirm but I bet he is top 5 if you do it that way.

I was thinking the same thing. If you take away everyone's outliers everything would probably even out and he'd still be at or near the top.

He's doing a great job, let's not overthink it.

Re: Cartwright Continues to Lead

excellent point FRPLG, I didn't consider that ... makes a big difference. but, even without rock's big return he still ranks high when compared to the other returners ... that's good :)

Re: Cartwright Continues to Lead

C'mon guys . . . if you're going to take away HIS best return, you have to take away the best return of all the leaders to see how that reshuffles the list. And the answer is, not that much.

But you DON'T have to take away his best return. He did have 11 NFL players trying to tackle him (even if they were cowgirls!).

He fires up special teams on returns and coverage, and made a very key tackle in yesterday's game that could have broken for a long gain.

our return situation is pretty good right now ;) it's been so up and down the last two years that it's nice to not have to worry it for once.
