He is highly overated. Carlin is the best comedian alive...Bill Hicks is the greatest dead comedian. Cook is a flash in the pan.

I do find Cook to be very funny, but I agree that he is overrated. You don't really have to think about his comedy too much and I think that's why it's so popular among people my age. Plus, it's easy to imitate and quote at parties (or on this site as I was doing before) so it can make you seem funnier.

Personally, Greg Geraldo and Lewis Black are two of my favorite comics right now.

He makes me laugh.... but his bit is the same.

I may just be jealous... but his jokes are standard comedian jokes... like

Whats the deal about such and such... but instead of leaving it at that... he takes the jokes as far as possible... and just pronounces words differently.....

i've probably just been listening to too much DC... but yeah..

damnit im such a hater.
