Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
He is according to B-Mitch. He speaks very highly of him and I couldn't be more happy that we've got him.
It would be a sad indictment of a team that we have to bring in an unsigned vet to create 'heart'. |
Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
hes our new starting SS and blocked the kick, was the first guy on the field to tackle novak, experienced in the nfc east...so glad we got him. heart of the skins? i dont think so since hes only been here 2.5 weeks, but he is a key player for us already

Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
i wonder when the last time Vincent played on special teams? after watching the replay, i think the kick would have gotten blocked by someone else, if Vincent would not have got to it

Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
Just heard it was with Brian Mitchell in the late 90's, early 2000 season.
He said that TV was a great ST's player back then also. |
Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
Love him today...but lets not get carried away.

Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
Whatever. Archuleta can give back money LaVar-style. :D

Or, you could praise them for realizing a mistake and signing an aging vet who some thought would never play again and getting production out of him. Granted the Archuleta foul-up was a BIG one, but Vincent's signing was a good one. Yeah, the FO screwed up, but I'm smelling nothing but roses this morning. |

If Mitchell says it it's gotta be true.

It is common knowledge that we have the second worst front office in the league. The worst is Buffalo, who let Vincent walk for nothing and are still paying him. But lets not sell Vincent short. This isn't Garnell Wilds (sp?). This is a guy who was a stud for years and is still pretty good. |
Re: Troy Vincent - New heart of the Skins?
On the whole Archuleta thing, sure he might have been a bust, but ya know what? Mistakes happen.

Marcus Washington, Clinton Portis, Cornelius Griffin, Phillip Daniels, and Shawn Springs were excellent additions. They also got us Chris Cooley, not too shabby either. They also got us Lemar Marshall and Joe Salave'a, not bad for UFAs. They also got us your man Sean Taylor. In 2005 we got Santana Moss, not bad there either. This last year's free agent acquisitions are the only real bad ones we've had since 2000 and the book isn't exactly written on them. |

Now one thing we can do is spend and just like in life, money can fix mistakes. Just ask Pac-man, Kobe, Chris Henry.... |

I agree that they've made mistakes (e.g. Archuleta), but I don't think they're one of the worst front offices in the league. They're mediocre/average IMHO. |
