November 9
Washington Post: "Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss returned to practice yesterday, although not in a full capacity, while quarterback Mark Brunell rested, although he is scheduled to start Sunday in Philadelphia. Moss missed last week's game and is nursing a hamstring injury, and said he will have to progress daily this week in order to play."

First, it's good to see that Moss participated at all.

Second, and the real point of this Thread, has anyone heard who took the snaps for Brunell during the practice?

IMO they should let Campbell run the Wednesday practice every week. This would give Campbell valuable reps and would give Brunell weekly rest which seems to help him play better.

I would agree..give campbell all the reps he can possibly get with the first team, and rest brunell... he has noticeably more ummph on the ball when he's well rested- lets keep it that way. gibbs does have his rule about not playing if you don't practice- which is understandable- but lets get brunell on the old McNair schedule.

We did hear that about Portis but I think that was an excuse for him not to play and he was still not ready to return from his injury. I can't come up with a particular player but there have been several who have not pratice but played but it was mostly last year.

He has said he likes them to practice but I think stopped short of saying they must practice to play. Greg Williams has been a little more strict with this stance on the defense.

Isn't Campbell a right hander? I wonder how that affects the playbook and O-Line play if they are swapping sides, as it were. Also it must affect the way the ball hits the WR hands, spiral-wise. Anyone?

That's true, but I think that is one more reason why Campbell should be getting regularly scheduled practice. If he got it early in the week, any ill effects from the switch would be gone by late week. It would be good for the team to work on right-handed QB play anyways considering there is a good chance a right handed qb will be running our offense at some point this year.

Yeah the spin on the ball is definitely different. Scheme wise things probably just flip.

And does that also mean that Chris Samuels would cover JC's blindside instead of John Jansen covering MB's?

I can't see them swapping the whole line around, or would they?

Re: Wednesday's Practice

the times i have read were brunell has limited practices during the week, he does have alittle more zip on the ball. and samuels blocking for campbells blind side could be a good thing. man , i want moss back, but not if its going to make that hammy worse

I mean the plays would flip, not the line.

With right handed QB the LT is naturally protecting the blindside, and vice versa with a left handed QB and the RT. There's no need to physically swap them.

But that'll the last thing they'd be expecting <Airplane quote>
Wide receiver Santana Moss participated fully in Thursday's practice, a promising sign that his hamstring injury is improving and he could be available for this Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Good sign Moss did the full practice today. No word on Brunell practicing or not.
