What's with the fumbles?

It seemed to go unnoticed, because we won and it didn't hurt us, but did anyone else see how many times we put the ball on the ground on Sunday?

Some of those fumbles were not forced at all.

They all looked forced to me. The great hit on Betts caused the fumble, the other three were pushed out.

Re: What's with the fumbles?

After failing to recover the majority of fumbles forced on defense this season, it was nice to see the opposition having a hard time recovering Redskin's fumbles. It's about time that the early season turnover disparity is starting balance out.

Turnovers is a non-issue this year, we don't turn the ball over and the defence doesn't get any either. The skins t.o. margin is -1.

Are you kidding me. Apparently you were not paying attention the beginning of the season. A majority of the turnovers have come over the last 2-3 games.

Turnovers is a huge issue. If we dont continue to force turnovers, then we will not continue to win.

If we didnt get the turnover we got in the Carolina game, we might have lost.

Re: What's with the fumbles?

The Carolina game is the only game this year I can think of where a turnover played a decisive roll. Last year I remember few games that the skins could have won if they held on to the ball better (KC and Denver come to mind).

I don't think this team can attribute any of their loses to turnovers this year. Of course if their defence had created more turnovers this season, then maybe they'd have more wins though.

Luckily, the behavior of fumbling is on a team level, not really an occurence that repeats itself.

Some players are more likely to fumble than others...but I don't think any of our players are espicially guilty of that.

I personally think we can. I think last year when we made our run for the playoffs the turnover ratio was plus 7 or something. It is simple. More turnovers lead to more chances for the offense to score, and less chances for the opponent to score.

If we had more turnovers this year, I can promise we would be in the hunt. Like I have said numerous times, look at the Cincy D last year. They gave up tons of yards, but they lead the league in turnover(or close to), and that gave the offense alot more chances to score.

Look at Baltimore, a good D, but they create tons of turnovers and everyone knows their offense isnt anything amazing. If we created turnovers this year, we would be in hunt.

I would almost say Betts. He seems to cough it up more than CP or any WRs we had.

betts, but i wouldnt consider him a fumbler. as a team, we do a pretty good job of protecting the football. can you say good coaching?

Cooley still scares me, but he seems to have shaken the fumble bug. It was never that bad, but he was getting a lot of touches, so naturally his fumble numbers were higher.
