OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
Did anyone see this?
Apparently Dexter Manley Sr. is off the juice and other substances, and his kid is looking good as a DE at Oregon. I'd love to see a rerun of Dexter Manley...without a doubt in my mind the best DE ever to grace a Skins uni. |
Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
he looks pretty good

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
I saw this (or something similiar) a while back on a Saturday Gameday segment. I was thinking how awesome it would be to have "Part II" come to the Skins in a couple of years. Then I thought about what tremendous pressure it would be to walk into Redskin HQ as Dexter Manley Jr. You know everyone will expect him to play as awesome as is dad did.

I actually disagree...I think we'd get nostalgic more than put pressure on him. We'd rather give him a shot and let him fail, then not give him a shot. |
Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
If he is half as good as the old man, I would welcome him with open arms.

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
when is he comming out?

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
I only watched a few plays last night & didn't see Manley at all. Anyone hear of any projected draft status?
I loved Dexter in his prime, would be cool to have his son here. |
Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
Here are his stats on the year

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
Apparently he and the old man don't have much to do with each other. There was an article in ESPN magazine about a year ago about it.

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
It was probably rough having Dex1 as dad. In and out of rehab for years waiting for the next adventure to begin. I still think about Sr periodically. What a shame, shooting star flamed real early. He was SO DAMN GOOD. If we get a guy like that.................look out
|
Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
Dex1 was on one of the news shows a couple of months ago (I can't remember if it was local or national). Apparently he has always had it. He said it contributed to his erratic behavior, but was also part of the reason he was such a beast on the field.

The OTL reported that Jr. wanted more to do with Sr. He said that he wanted to be there for his dad, and supposedly Sr. is off drugs. (heard that before, but everyone deserves another chance.) About Jr., from what I understand, he doesn't play all the time...he's just a Jr. (if I remember correctly), so I expect him to blossum next year when he plays full time. |

Re: OTL, Dexter Manley Jr.
I always liked Charles Mann. Because he didn't wear those jeans with the god damned rips in them like Dexter.
