Who Would Have Thought This Last Game Meant Nothing?

wow, last game of the season and its basically meaningless, the money you could have won off fellow warpathers if you would have said the last game would be meaningless for us,the only way you would have took that bet is if you thought we were so good that we had the playoffs locked up with a first round bye, hard to beleive how far we have fallen.Personally, after losing to minnesota in the first game at home I think I knew deep down we were in big trouble this yr,I just didnt want to admit it.

I think Portis going down the first game of the preseason set the tone. Also the new offense took some time gel and the defense has regressed mightily. It has been a miserable, dissapointing, and disheartening season, thank goodness there's only one game left of it. That being said, however, I think with some additions to the defense and an offseason of work for Jason Campbell, the team should be vastly improved and hopefully a contender once again!

the only way i thought this game would mean nothing is that we already had our playoff position locked up

The last five seasons we've closed against Dallas, Phili, Minnesota, Phili, and now the Giants. I've looked forward to all those games at the start of the season every year fantasizing about what would be at stake come January. If you had shown me this schedule five years ago, and told me that only one of the five games would even have playoff implications, I would first have wondered how you gained the ability to see into the future. I would have then grown quite upset, and maybe would have hit you.

It's a shame, I thought this game was going to be for the division and a first round bye at the beginning of the year. Oh well, maybe next year (I am getting tired of saying that).

Not I, said the duck. I thought this game would mean everything.

This game does mean something, the players better play like it means something. I'd love to see someone play the first half as if he were just going through the motions and then by half-time see him on the sideline in street clothes.

Why would you want to see a player on your team do something like that makes no sense, I want them all to come out and play like this game is a must win. I think this is a very important game because of all the people that will be watching the game and will get their last look at the skins. There will be grennbay, Carolina, Atlanta, and Ram fans watching this game and most of all the NFC fans watching. This is a perfect time for JC to show all the other players in the NFC that he is a QB to watch out for. Its a time for our O line to show that they are one of the best in the NFL. Its a time for Betts to show that Portis is not our only strong RB. Its a time that our D can make a strong showing which will be the last thing teams remember. Its a time that our special teams can show how good they really are. So to say this is not an important game is nonsense its the most important game we will play this season because its the last thing other teams will remeber about the Redskins and our players know that all will be watching.

I think you missed my point. This game better mean something to all of the players. What I would love to see is not so much a player not trying but a coaching staff that holds the players accountable for their commitment to the team even in a game that means nothing for that season.

So far I'd have to say that I have only seen guy's giving 100% the past couple of weeks.

The way I see it, this game is important. No, it may not have playoff implications for us, but it does for them. If we can't go to the playoffs, then they shouldn't either. Reminds me of Vikings v Cardinals a few years ago

Giving less than 100% will land you on the sidelines in street clothes (injured) Not going all out with the idea it's a meaningless game will get you hurt. We certainly don't want any injury the last game of the season.

this game does mean something. if we can win at least we wont be swept by the giants and not to mention the fact some are playing for their jobs.
