I'm surprised the Correll Buckhalter TD against us in the first game didn't make the cut.

Re: Vote For Redskins For "nuttiest Play Of The Year"
FYI: Its down to the final 2:
Week 9 Dallas-Washington Dallas kicker Mike Vanderjagt lines up for a potential game-winning field goal with 15 seconds left..When his attempt is blocked by Troy Vincent, Washington's Sean Taylor picks up the loose ball and runs with it across midfield before he his tackled. However, during the runback, Kyle Kosier grabs Taylor's facemask-which meant a 15-yard penalty, and an untimed down (because the gameclock had expired). By rule, the game cannot end on a defensive penalty, so Washington had a chance to win the game instead of heading into overtime. Nick Novak put a 49 yard field goal through the uprights to give the Skins the victory in one of the nuttiest finishes in football history. Week 10 Bears-Giants Almost one year to the date after teammate Nathan Vasher set an NFL record by returning a missed field goal 108 yards for a touchdown, Devin Hester of the Bears duplicated the feat against the Giants. Jay Feely's 52 yard attempt in the 4th quarter was short and Hester camped under the goalpost, waited until many of New York's players inexplicably walked to the bench, and then took off down the sideline...Vasher's fluky play was thought to be a once in a lifetime event, and won the Blue Diamond nuttiest play of the year award last season, but Hester's heroics this time was "déjà vu all over again". It also was the turning point in last night's Bears victory, and may have also helped Chicago secure home field advantage for the playoffs. At Noon on Monday Feb 5: Redskins 388 Bears 337 Lets get this thing won! |
