Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
According to The Washington Post, the Redskins are not interested in retaining CB Kenny Wright or LB Warrick Holdman

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
damn does that mean rocky might play next year yeah. Well it looks like were going to have to shut down highway 57 this year. Still have highway 99 open.

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
So my Wright and Holdman jersey are now useless???? That sucks!!!

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
Ah god I Can't belive this !!!!!! What a dumb FO
While I think Holdman took a little more crap than he should have...this is exactly what I think should happen and expected too |
Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
If we were going to cut Springs, it wouldn't make sense to also let Wright walk.
I agree with both moves. We have a lot of key role players who deserve to have their contracts renewed, and while Wright was on the cusp of this list, Holdman was nowhere near it. The safe thing to do in an offseason like this is not to resign the players who are on the bubble of deserving a new deal. I think I speak for everyone when I ask: which team is going to be the beneficiary of Kenny Wrights 6 picks and probowl appearance next year? |
Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
This sucks, we're lossing our two most important players.

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
For the record, cutting Wynn, Fauria, and Hall would open up 5 million more in cap space.
That would give us 10.8 million to work with in FA. Thats more than enough. I estimate that Clements+Fletcher would cost us 5.5 million against the 2007 cap. We can always free up more to sign draft picks through restructurings if necessary. |
Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
who are these guys? did they use to play for the redskins?

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
i think wright is more then serviceable as the nickel back. i wonder what the skins have in mind. people have been calling for holdmans head for at least 2 seasons. anyone know what he was slated to make this year?

Re: Wright and Holdman Reportedly On Their Way Out
Watch Kenny Wright pull a Walt Harris on us and go to the Pro Bowl next year.
They must really be planning on going after a CB this offseason because, as someone mentioned earlier, Wright is a decent nickel back. |

Keep Springs as the nickle, and have Rogers and Clements on the field. Rotate them as they fatigue to prevent getting beat deep. Have packages where all three play at the same time (besides the obvious nickle--packages with 3 CBs near the line and ST deep).

Kenny Wright was just terrible this year and was a liability every time he stepped on the field. Walt Harris was a good player for the Skins...not Pro Bowl caliber, but he didn't make mistakes. |

No big surprise here.
A note on Rocky, I've heard that Lindsey may have been responsible for keeping him off the field last year. Look for him to play a much bigger role this year. |
