Re: Jamal Lewis Released
I heard that he might be cut a few weeks ago, but I'm still surprised given that they have a run-first offense, they lost Chester Taylor and Jamal Lewis, and McNair's age is starting to show.
I wonder who they are looking to grab. The best backs in the draft are expected to be gone by the time the Ravens pick and there are no franchise RBs in FA. |

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
oh god, how long until someone around here wants the skins to sign him?

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
The aged JL isn't worth the cash. I think that was a good business move. I could really care less, glad he's not on the SKINS ROSTER.

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
Would he be willing to take an '05-'06 Jerome Bettis-type roll for some other team or does he feel like he still has good years left? I can't imagine he would re-sign with b'more if he feels like he can still be an elite back.
(I don't want him anywhere near Ashburn) |
Re: Jamal Lewis Released
I think that prison time hurt him a lot. He hasn't been the same back since.

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
He really isn't that old (28). But he has been pretty beaten up and had some injuries. He may still go back to the Ravens. It was just prohibitive cap-wise for them to keep him. I think his days as an elite back are gone - but he could be a 1-yard wonder on the goal line for some team.

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
Mike Anderson and the 2nd running back this year( w/e his name is)did a much better job thewn Jamal. Jamal has always been the definition of overated
I think that prison time hurt him a lot. He hasn't been the same back since.
I think it has more to do with the carries he got in that 2000 yard season. He got beat to a bloddy pulp.

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
It's amazing how quickly these every down backs deteriorate. It seems like just yesterday he was dropping 300 on Cleveland and challenging E Dickerson's record

Re: Jamal Lewis Released
Glad we have two of them
