The Redskins have released TE Christian Fauria. I wonder who his backup will be.

I think Todd Yoder will be the backup although we may sign a free agent to bolster the depth.

Any of our capologists have anything on Patten? seems I remember somebody saying here that it wouldn't save anything to cut him.

Cutting Fauria saved us $1.0 million (on the nose) in cap space.

Cutting David Patten would actually cost us cap space ($2.2 million to be exact). If we cut him as a post-June 1 cut, we'd save $1.3 million this year, and then take a $3.5 million deadcap hit next season.

Chances are Patten will be back, but I've seen stranger things happen.

thanks Scneed. JLC seems to think Patten is next or on the list, but he never gives cap info like u do.
We could end up w/# 4 & 5 WRs - Loyd & Patten - that don't play spec. teams. I thought Thrash outplayed both last year & earned time at wr, plus he just restructured/extended.
